Margonite as a playable race?

Since Charr can be a playable race in GW2, why can't Margonite? With Abaddon and Mallyx's defeat, I think more Margonites will join the Goddess of the Truth like Apostate and the Lost. Make these Margonite a playable race will be great. They have cool looking, a lot of people will choose them rather than Charr.
if these are not enough, maybe change female Margonite's face to Varesh(Prophet form)'s will be nice.

With that being said, this is a posibility, it would be pretty badass to be a Margonite, however I'll most likely be one of 3 things, Charr, Human, or Slyvarian.

The Margonite are a broken race. I find it unlikely that hundreds of years later they are still around. You see most of them reside in the Realm Of Torment and half of them are wiped out (and then wiped out more when they flock to Mallyx.

I see the Mursaat and Forgotton being more likely than the Margonites.

Maybe both those races will find sanctuary in Kormir's realm.

Cause humans for the most part don't like the Forgotten all that much,
And Mursaat kinda, you know, tried destroying the world so I doubt they'd be allowed to stay...

The Murr's, the Marg's and the Forgotten's are all (and should be) by any means from here on out, should be considered an "Elite" race that we will not play.

Exclude them from any attempts to figure out who the other playable races will be.

The Mursaat never tried to destroy the world The Margonites however did. The Mursaat dont seem to depend upon Gods at all.

Margonite are humans who got blessed by Abaddon, since Komir got Abaddon's power now, I think she can help change Margonite to a better race, like able to produce offsprings.

And what happened when Abaddon was destroyed? the remaining Margonites went to Mallyx to try to take down the Goddess Of Truth. She couldnt change them. When Abaddon was defeated the Margonites were pulled down into torment and they remained there. They had been twisted by the torment and their own worship of Abaddon.

I like how Neriandal puts it: They are an elite race like the Mursaat. They should not be playable.

But some of them decide to join us before Abaddon was defeated. Like The Lost.

I always said I didn't want to try other races...but if they made Mursaat a playable race I would SO be there!

Unfortunately you are right...it would destroy the "magic" surrounding the Mursaat. I still want to see them in later games though. They're one of the only things worth going back to Tyria for.

I'm using Spectral Agony! Game over.

I'm using Enraged! Game over.

That's probably why we won't be able to play them. Probably...

No, those won't be the reasons. It's much the reason Celest put out, it would destroy that "magic" that The Murr's, the Forgotten, the Margonite, etc.etc. have when we encounter them.

Now, this doesn't mean they won't be an ally here, or an ally there (or, whatever Guildwars 2 brings us as far as "heroes" are concerned), but we will not get to play them unless, and only unless, you do a series of hard quests.

I don't play any more.

If this was implemented into GW2, I would preorder it. Kai <3's her Margonites.

Yeah, I'd think that if Margonites or Mursaat were turned into playable races, their "super powers" would have to be removed. I am a big fangirl of Margonites and would make as many Margonite characters as possible. After all GW2 is set "100 years after GW1" so who knows what could have happened? ¬¬

Now all we need is a Margonite rally like the Mursaat rally, lol.

I personally don''t think that Margonites will find themselfs as a playable race, because the are tainted and corrupted, they pledged allegiance to Abbaddon and to his cause of destroying the 5 "true" Gods of Tyria, Cantha and Elona.

And even after the defeat of their God and the rising of a new god who holds their old masters powers, they swear to destroy Kormir this reincarnation as the Godess of Truth as a purer Form of Abbaddon...

By all means in my opinion it is unthinkable to include the Margonites and not destroy the current lore...I mean Anet could also do it like another MMORPG which i dont want to mention *cough*WoW*cough* ... erm sry xD

But on the other hand the Charr will probably be a playable race, which was kinda unthinkable like a year ago...well before NF and the Charr in the Domain of Secrets...

hahahahhaha

no.

Charr are more, infact significantly more, comparable to the DWARVES in the mountains then to MORGANITES. The Charr were used, and mislead by the Titans - and ultimately, Abbadon. Well he's dead now. Charr are in a civil war, and they (evidently) make friends with humans later on.

In short, the Charr = germany

Morganites = space aliens

Sorry, but no, you don't get to be a space alien.

Well you and some people did not get my point.
Yes MOST of the Margonites were hostile to Komir and us even after Abaddon and Mallyx were dead. But did you do the Oddbodies and Apostate quest? From these two quests we know there were some Margonites thought they were wrong to serve Abaddon and decide to join us. That was happened before Abaddon's defeat. I am sure after Mallyx's death, there will be more of them change their mind like those two and decide to join us, their god, their new leader were dead, they have no future, join Komir was not a bad idea. These Margonites are ok to be playable.

I think that The Margonites and Mursaat are like cousins or sister races. Next almost all Mursaat were killed by the Titans and Margonites like almost all of their race may have died with Abaddon maybe the weaker 1's and the stronger 1's died with Mallyx and if any are left can't make new Margonite kids. In short we may dig up some Fossil of Margonites in a 100years

They should make a full sotryline to The Forgotten that would completely tie up the lore and history for both Tyria and Elona....screw factions though, it was worthless. Although from factions i wouldnt mind seeing more "factions" opening up (like being able to join and become an Am Fah or Obsidian Flame Assassin, that would rock.)

Things like that I expect to see during the two/three year absence we are going to have from EotN to GuildWars 2. Nice massive updates to keep our interest during that period that change what we currently know, and to give us more to work for during that time we have.

Charr and Germans? heh heh ... being of German heritage myself ... no.

1. Germans are not furry critters.

2. You never see Charr drinking beer from steins neither, now do you?

3. Nor dancing Polkas to dreadful accordian music!

My big concern is all the playable races might have set genders ie Charr being only male and the Norn are strictly female. Which i hope doesnt happen anyone else worried about that happening?

No. There are Norn concepts of both male and female.

And just because we haven't seen a female Charr doesn't mean they won't exist. ANet is probably working on the concept art right now.

Female Charr probally just havnt been seen because a) there not allowed in the army or b) they have but they look the same as Males or c)Females are Charr Ritualists, Assassins, Dervishs and Paragons which werent used to attack Ascalon
