Keys to happiness in game...
Enchanted Warrior
1) You may not always finish or complete a quest or mission. Some need to be done over and over, or you need to ask for help from more experienced players. Or both. With this in mind, you may not get masters in all, especially the older chapters (Prophecies, Factions) as most of the more experienced players have moved on to nightfall. Do not expect the older chapters to be updated to make them easier, it's just not going to happen.
2) You cannot expect to achieve the same results in game as the other players. Many of them play a great deal more than you, and more than likely they know every pattern and skill needed to traverse an area, defeat a mob etc.
3) You cannot expect to recieve the same results in gold and/or loot drops, or chest runs as many in game have at one time or another. Updates in game have changed how these all work and unless you have a lot of free time you will not be getting the same things others do.
4) If getting the best loot, armor, etc is your main goal, you must accept that the current state of the game is working against you. Yes against you. The system is trying to defeat bots, exploiters and other TOS violators and we (the lawful players) will suffer for their sins.
In short if playing the game "as is" is not an enjoyable experience, perhaps you should try another game and watch for GW2.

I really like your third and fourth points. I know a lot of friends who'll complain that they won't get the same drops as someone else. And yeup, farming is not easy in Guild Wars - it's just not how GW was built.

Wow, I'm impressed. Good post.
I seriously never expected you, Enchanted, to post something like this considering the nature of most of your other posts.
Kudos. Truly.

Or better still:
"Game Experience May Change During Online Play"
Which we all know means you could go to bed on Monday with a shiny, strong warrior in FOW armor and wake up the next day to find a dwarf in a pink too too, with a wand..
5) You cannot expect your current character build/setup to work on all occasions, you will need to adapt, improvise and overcome (ohhrah), or fall behind. In game, like in life unfortunaley, it is survival of the fittest. You cannot judge online games by the standard you used to judge pc or console games. They were set, the outcome determined at inception. Online games are fluid and very, VERY subject to change. Either you roll with the changes or leave. It sounds harsh but welcome to the jungle. I've seen mega popular games die after one update. (almost overnight).

1. Disagree unless you only own *one* of the older games. Adding skill from other campaigns, from my experience, makes you more powerful because of your skill diversity. It's not hard for a player to make a tryia character and get Elona max armor before doing N.Shiverpeaks missions for example either.
2. Agree
3. Agree
4. Agree ... for a different reason. Jeff Spain interview said there nothing against farming (for your own wealth) but if something becomes to popular - causing things go out of wack, they will "fix" it. aka a group of player earn more money at a much higher rate then the population

The only reason i'm not happy in the game is builds. I've spent around 100k+ on builds in a month. I see a build, think its good and so buy EVERYTHING it requieres, then i find its not so good, so i go for another. I still haven't found a decent build for my dervish <;l i've checked the forums but there's not alot there. Well i'll wait for GW:EN new skills, new builds, right?

If those people can't handle any change then they should not be playing an online game. Otherwise, just accept that some things happen and you'll be a lot happier.

The Ernada, actually it should be displayed above games on the shelf where they are sold. Don't hold your breath, gaming companies want every dollar. They do not want anything stopping people from buying their games. If they don't enjoy them, oh well, they got paid.

redant751, just do like I have. Write it off, and move on. I know, it's not much of a solution, but the only thing that they (gw) will listen to is lower sales, til then they feel all they are doing is right.

Just to echo everybody else, great post Enchanted. So many people get so bloody upset when something gets nerfed/buffed/resdesigned/altered/whatever.
Person Taking Game too Seriously: "OMG Anet just nerfed my uber-1337 build!!!11111eleven! Now I actually have to THINK for myself instead of ripping something off of Wiki and come up with something original! Gods, I am ruined!!!111!"
Everybody Else: "Meh, I wonder if this works."
PTGWTS: "You fools, what are you doing?!? They just nerfed my build! Now I can't pwn everything with my skillz!"
EE: "We're playing the game. Its what we do for enjoyment and diversion."
If you can't deal with a change, or the fact that GW isn't like every other bloody MMO on the market, go play them and let those of us who enjoy (for the most part) what GW actually IS do so.

Also, only for whom it is legal to do so:
Once in a while, open a bottle of your favourite poison, get drunk and play.
Bottle of booze: €20
Getting run through the desert: 5plat or so
Waking up the next morning wondering how your mesmer got to the ring of fire island: Priceless

lol got a good laugh from that Lich, if people didn't take some stuff so seriously they would have alot more fun in life/Guild Wars....ya know...whichever
Enchanted Warrior
Another thing I have done is drop my less than favorite characters. I decided it would require too much more game time to get them through, and it would just be too aggravating owing to the current game mechanics vs certain professions. That coupled with the fact that with Heroes you are playing all by setting them up and controlling them, and I prefer Warrior over all except Ranger which I use when I get tired of running after stuff. Essentially I decided the game was not going to adjust to me, so I adjusted my time in it.
7) IF you are a casual player, don't worry about places like Domain of Anguish, it was designed to be uber hard unless you can take time to figure our FOTM builds, which usually means starting a new character and getting it through the game again. Of course if you want to try it, great. But, if getting wiped out (entire group) over and over in a few minutes appeals to you, pass it by. They are called "Elite" areas but it would be more appropriately titled "Elitest", as the only ones getting into groups must be wearing the required outfit and have the required spells etc.. Basically this type of area seems to be a casters/ranged only mission as the run in and fight tactic will result in a 30 second death. Some will say they use "x" build and run through to get chests, well that may be true but given the stuff coming out of chests is subject to the same mechanics as the rest of the game, it hardly seems worth it (i.e you can get purple, req13 stuff there just like anywhere else in game, and imho, the effort is not worth it. ) I've got protector in all 3 chapters, I'm lightbringer 5, and over 4.4 mil in exp on my main character. I can do most any mission save a few with heroes/henchman. And I get wiped there in a few minutes. So having said titles means nothing there. They are an entirely new playing feild, kinda like TOTPK, on crack, and as a guildy says "The Developers ate too much pepperoni pizza before bed"

Another thing to remember is even though it is a game some things are ment to be played harder for and not handed to players on a silver platter. As there is no UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT A B A B code in GW for stuff.
