I know this is dumb, but it kills me inside

K, i have skills, like we all do, i have 1 hero (i dunno, i just am that cool) and its a ele/mo, and HOW IN THE NAME OF DEAR SWEET GOD DO I GET NEW SKILLS. I kno u can buy them (which i have) but is there any other way to get them. Its been killing me, so if i can, tell me, and dont tell me im stupid, trust me, i kno

there should be hero skill trainers (ussually pretty close to the skill trainer) wich offer skills to unlock for you and hero's no money needed asslong as u have enough hero points

or u can do pvp and get faction to unlock skills for youre hero's

Or, change your secondary and, if you have enough skill points (and gold), get what ever you need from all the professions.

Four ways I can think of right now

1)quest for them, fairly straig forward, give you character and you hero's the skills

2) buy them from skill trainer, need skill point and gold, and again, give the skill to your character you bought it with and to your hero's

3)Buy them at a priest of baltazar with faction. This unlocks them for you PvP character and your hero's. If you unlock a skill with a priest of baltazar with a PvE character, it will not give that character that skill.

4) hero skill trainer, you buy them with hero point, unlocks them for you hero''s ( and PvP chracter too I beleive, some one correct me if I'm wrong)

Use a signet of capture.

If you have either Factions or Nightfall, you've probably already gotten most of the skills you can get through quests. In which case you have two ways to earn skills in PvE: buy them from skill trainers (costing money and a skill point) or buying them from hero skill trainers (no money, costs a hero skill point but you have a very limited amount of them). The only thing with hero skill trainers is they can teach you skills that aren't from your primary or secondary class, which can be helpful in a couple of cases but I would just buy primary profession skills from them (Assuming you get to R7 Sunspear and R2 Lightbringer, you will have exactly enough skill points to buy every Elementalist skill in Nightfall).

If you have Prophecies, you will come across quests that will let you learn skills as rewards, but no hero skill trainers.

QFT, spending your balthazar factions is good way to unlock extra skills (heroes can use every skill that has been unlocked), however:
* skills unlocked this way cannot be used by PVE characters, so when you have an elem as PCE char you cannot use the skills unlocked this way (but your heroes can use them)
* not everyone like to play pvp. For those ppl i do the next suggestions:

You also can unlock extra skills via the hero's skill trainers, but then you are very limited to the skills that are offered. If possible, just unlock these skills for your own profession. This way you can use them and so can your heroes (no need to buy them anymore).

For elems i think it is best to focus on 1 type of elementalist: fire, earth, water or air... dont try to get a bit of everything as you probably end up with a pretty weak elem (hero).

I do have an elem and i do have all chapters, so in my case i bought buy the extra skills that i want to have via my elementalist. That way my elem can use them and so can my elem heroes...

For people who dont have an elem, i suggest you buy elem as a 2nd profession. Then switch your 2nd prof to elem and buy the skills that you want to unlock for your heroes.

I hope this is clear enough (my native language isnt english and it is a bit late here, so i rushed my post a bit )

Err, I think the OP is calling his character a hero.

@OP - If I am correct, ignore all instructions on hero skills as the posters are speaking about customizable henchmen available to Nightfall owners.

If you check out the wiki at http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page you will see what skills are available for your ele/mo and where you can get each one.

You didn's say what campaign(s) you have nor what level your character is at so there is not much more advice available.

Please note, that skills from the hero skill trainer are ALSO usable by your character (not just the heroes) so long as you are the right class(es) for the skill(s) in question. Obviously if you get a rit skill and your a mo/mes, you can't use it
