Unique Account Name, Repeatable Character Names

Since ANet is adding a feature that allows us to have a named account, why not use that name for friend lists and guild lists and allow players to start having repeatable character names from now on?

I know that means we'll start seeing more drizzts and gandalfs and harry potters, but it also allows people who have a specific name in mind to get it if it's something that someone else might have thought of and not harry potter (IE winter claw was taken when I last tried to use it). To me it kind of pierces the illusion since a name can only be used by one person at a time. I mean if you are a John Smith, a Micheal Brown, or a Mr Yamada that's because some names are common, and that's okay.

And think of it like this: perhaps you are really uncreative or have a name in mind that you really like and want some of your characters to be able to share that name.

meh i really dont like taht idea cause sumone could take your main chars name or a char you plays name and do some shit to make people hate that name and you get blamed for it.... yea no i like being one of a kind lol

I have absolutely no idea what you just said. Back on topic, I think it would cause too many problems, especially when it comes to scammers. How would Anet be able to tell which character with a common name is the scammer?

No. Names are unique for one reason.
That reason can't be changed.

Instead of that, they should add some kind of random name generator to help people make a new name.
