ok so i was playing HA yesterday and noticed that Life Sheath, although many find this skill useless, works great if utilized right.
this is what i came up w/ and paired with a ZB prot or even WoH healer, this works quite well.

Attributes:
Healing Prayers 10+1
Protection Prayers 10+1+3
Devine Favor 10+1

Skills:
Reversal Of Fortune
Life Sheath {E}
Gift of Health
Protective Spirit
Dismiss Condition/Mend Condition
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Aegis (this slot is optional as Aegis in HA is only useful on some occasions, i reccomend bringing SoA or Spirit bond)
Holy Veil
**the Glyph is there to let u cast either 2x Prot Spirit free/2x Dismiss condition free or a combination of those (also use aegis for only 5 energy)

**ok so before people start saying this is not a good build, read on how to use it. the point of Life Sheath is to take pressure off of monks as well as counter fast spikes, and cover allies being targeted by only one dmg dealer.
at 14 it takes off 142 dmg from target ally, which means that a spike based on quick attacks and also dmg between the rates of 500-600 on an average 480hp target will only deal 600-142 = 458dmg, and if ONE heal of 100+ is applied that spike is shutdown. Also if LS is used with SoA then SoA will reduce dmg before it is negated by LS, which means it will further decrease damage. cause an average of -15-30dmg, until life sheath is used up.
I know this is a less powerful build than a ZB infuser, but it is still able to counter spikes and take off large amounts of dmg when Life Sheath is paired with GoH and topped of with Reversal.

Another way on how to use this is just a back up monk. If many allies at a time r taking dmg and the healer (or whatever the other monk is) cant cope with it. this build can quickly cover a target with PS+SoA, another with LS and quickly heal w/ GoH (if you take spirit bond u can cover yet another ally)
Giving time to the healer to deal with the dmg properly and not have to rush too much.

**as with alot of Prot spells LS does NOT negate Life Stealing.

I am open to suggestions and your opinions ^^ thx

Saving a spike with a 1 second cast spell? Good luck with that.

Life Sheath isn't spammable enough, and things like Guardian or even straight-out healing spells are better in practice.

~Z what i failed to mention is that the 20second duration+ enchanting+20% = 24second duration of Life Sheath is good enough to be applied to ALL party members before going into battle. sure Enchant stripping will be in order, but once u see the little yellow arrow dissapear on a target u know that u have half a second or more till the spike begins meaning that u can reapply Life Sheath and counter the dmg nevertheless.(even applying RoF before casting Life sheath will help)

i have done this myself, however it requires the monk to fully concentrate on the party panel and make sure your allies have no other enchantments on unless their build requires it.

With a 7 second recharge, I'm fairly certain it's impossible to get Life Shealth on an 8 man party.

If it's the only enchantment on them, a shatter enchantment means they have no other protection and are probably doomed.

I agree with the person who said about the spike, life sheath just isn't fast enough

Life sheath needs a 1/4 activation time to be efficient. It's one of these underused elites for a reason.

First of all, superior rune on a monk? Asking to get killed?

Second, a spell that takes 1 sec to cast can't save a spike. The damage negation is minimal, and you can easily accomplish the same casting gift, which is even faster cast. With your spike counter theory where they spike for 600 damage, you can do better with a simple RoF.

This build is in all ways inferior to a ZB build with the exact same bar, and ZB provides a bigger heal than life sheath's prot anyways. There's no way you can apply this to all party members, and randomly using this skill is just a waste of energy. Playing a prot is hard, but playing a life sheath monk as it is right now is just asking to get rolled.

Paired with a ZB/WoH healer, you have very minimal condition and hex removal, as well as a good form of protting (SoD or SoR).
