Was playing around with some Sandstorm builds and found this one really fun.
You only need about a 9 in curses.
I put the rest into Earth and Mysticism.
Usage:
Damage:
Basically load up on all your enchantments make sure Pious renewal is the last one you trigger before you hit mystic sandstorm. After which you basically explode for a 130 damage cause bleeding and poison to all adjacent foes (bleeding to nearby), and more than likely rocket your mana and health to near full.
Support healing:
When I'm out of range of enemies I can use [card]Signet of Pious Light[/card]to heal my team mates rather than triggering a sandstorm with my loaded enchantmets. Energy actually jumps up during this due to mysticism.
Likes
Energy management is good.
Very spammable.
Very survivable.
I actually get +1 Regen while using [card]Poisoned Heart[/card] with [card]Mystic Regeneration[/card]
You can look very weak suckering in your opponent then explode to full health and energy.
Dislikes:
Spams a lot of enchantments so you are in the back of the pack early on. Not quick on it's feet.
Weaknesses:
Mesmers, Interrupts, Prot monks with Mend Ailment or Mending Touch or the like.

Mmm, I wouldn't take it to RA, but there are enough clusters in AB where this could be fuuunn.

Just thinking about a possible variant you could switch [skill]Heart of Holy Flame[/skill] for [skill]Pious Renewal[/skill] it lowers the energy you gain by 5 and some health but increases damage by adding 3 seconds of burning at 8 mysticism.

I'm not sure the extra poison damage really makes up for the lack of mobility you suffer by not taking an assassin secondary for AoD. That was whaty made the Mystic Sandstorm build so scary. You could teleport into a bunched group a full radar length away, fire mystic sandstorm and drop huge damage plus conditions and then poof you were back,sometimes it looked like you never even left. As it stands now you could easily be stripped as you waded into the mod, thus cutting your damage down significantly. I like the creative thinking, but I question the effectiveness of it without the shadowstepping ability. You're reasoning is good though. If you are the lone dervish using this build then you need to drop as many DoT conditions as possible to ensure a kill, just don't forget that the effectiveness of the build is based on your ability to get in there with all your enchants still on, drop sandstorm then get out and AoD is perfect for that.

True I've played with that build and do miss it's mobility.
Sidenote. Poisoned heart is a 5 mana cast now.
Other things you can do while wading through the mob is spam Pious Renewal and other enchants and spam Sig of Pious Light as a support healer.
