This weekend has HARD mode? and what a tiny reference to it.

Is anyone else confused by this, for this weekend, its double points for sunspear and lightbringer titles, but beyond that it say

"In normal, AND hard mode"

Thats all that is said by it, and I have not seen anything else about it anywhere else. Am I blind, or is the "biggest" update to Guild Wars being kept under radar until THIS weekend?

Uh Yea they've been hyping Hard mode for about a month now at least. The hard mode update is expected late this week.

It'll probably start at the usual "event" start time, friday, noon pdst, 3pm eastern.

Of course I'm going away this weekend.

Not curious at all if you've been paying attention. Gaile has said 'hard mode this week' several times. It was announced March 20 that it would be released within a month. So yes, Hard Mode release is imminent.

I think most of us are wondering where the fanfare is.

It seems a little tacked on, and not the usual way of introducing new content.

A very off-handed way, if you will.

Yeah, you would think that with all the stuff they have been saying about hard mode they would announce it in a separate announcement....and not just allude to it in a weekend event. AND they would announce it before wednesday that it would be coming this weekend....or is it just going to be another unannounced update? (a new build is available please log off...)

If i recall Gaile said in addition to the actual Hard Mode a page about Hard Mode would be put up this week introducing it.

And it has indeed been knowledge that Hard Mode would be released this week.

OK, we must be "talking" passed each other here: I don't think any one is disputing that Hard Mode was already informally announced as beginning this weekend. So no one was shocked or felt faint, and nobody had to be hospitalized upon learning this, at least to my knowledge.

The simple observation concerned ANet's choice to announce this weekend's double Sunspear and Lightbringer points event without formally announcing the introduction of a Hard Mode at the same time. Nothing more, nothing less.

well unless there's gonna be a big ingame message saying "guild wars now has hard mode which means....", normal people won't notice it untill they play it anyway. I mean I'm sure you guys knew about there being a bigger storage (and everything else) update, but I just found out by opening my storage...and I'm pretty sure it's the same with 70-80% of people...we find things out when we see them or accidentaly hear of them. Not all that many people check out 3 forums and guild wars official site twice a day...

I check one forum, my guild chat and the Guild Wars Official Site once a day. I knew about Hard Mode the day after it was first annouced. Which was quite some time ago.
