Can't get to Flame Temple Corridor

Hi

I am really stuck. I have spent hours trying to find a way to FTC. But I am blocked by the terrain at every point. I am doing the Ashes quest. Also, I have finished the Ghost and Fire quests in the same area. I have scoured the forum so I do understand there is a bug in the area, but I am not certain of the details.

I am in the courthouse at this time, and ventured out North, South, East and West looking for a path the FTC. Can anyone assist?

It's pretty straightforward. Have a look:

You need to go through the portal at the top right of pic to get to the Flame temple area
or you mean can't you find a path to the portal?

You'll end up walking through that big mass of tar, head for that and you'll find it.

Easiest way is once you can see the sign at the portal (use alt key), click on that. Once you know the path it's easy.

By head: from Grendich Courthouse, go left (and stay left for awhile). You should end up at a waterpart (tar?). Go through the "water" and keep looking left. You should notice a path at some point... follow that path. At the end of the path, go right... you should see lots of charr there.

Yes, I can't get to the portal. Most of the tar pits are unpassable, so I gave up. Thanks for the help everyone, I will give it a try

OK, I got to the Ashes, but as many of you know...the Charr have the high ground, and I can't lure them down to cut them up. I end up with 128 health and no way to go the last few feet to grab the goods.

I have my henchman, but they only help so much. Can I enlist the help of another human player to complete the mission? This is the first time I have played a game like this, so please excuse my ignorance.

Personally, I hate it when a Level 20 joins a group and does everything for me, so in keeping with that philosophy, I'll help you, but I'll also hang back a bit and let you fight some as well. You can't learn to be a better player if someone else does everything for you.

So, if this sounds appealing to you, look me up. I'll probably be playing "The Scarlet Raven".

Another option is to charge the alter. You only have to click on the alter to get the ashes so a fast run will usually get you there before the Charr can kill you. What happens to you after that is another matter...

Well, I got the ashes. I was able to do it on my own. I found a way to kill the two archers at the top of the alter. Once they went, it was just a matter of letting the others come down and I killed them. Thanks for everyones help
