In game Npc for polls
riftbreaker raven
*checked but didnt see anything similar*
I have noticed a few dev polls and was wondering if it might be possible for Anet to add an npc in game. Not all players frequent the forums. They could make it a once per account thing, and it would give all players a chance to voice their opinions. It would not be a major thing at current but if the design team wanted to get player ideas about future updates, skill changes, etc this might be a way to do it. Not sure if its even possible, but theres my idea.

Yeah, Not only not all players check forums, but less than 10% of players check forums.
You can't really know if players would like something just by checking the forum polls.
Ingame polls would be some trouble to add, but possible.
Why I know it is possible?
They can check all the scores and make ladders.
Any time a poll is made, each account has one variable saved, you vote by changing that variable with an NPC... they make a query... and they get the answer.
Many people is lazy to check forums and vote, but not many people would be so lazy to go to Lion's Arch or the Great Temple of Balthazar to vote, specially when they care about the vote.

yea i totally agree, then a-net would get a better general idea of what their players want.

They know...it's the time price that prevents this.
The code to make this will take a few days to make and a long time to put on the server. Then you will need a mod system to filter some "Mature" content.

I also though of this never bothered to put it up ^^:
would be great for those bigger decisio, or see what the majority of people would want for an update ( like th b-day present)

anyway to give the players another way to voice their opinion is a good idea for both us and anet.

They would be 'yes/no/abstention' polls.
How can be 'mature content' a simple 'yes/no/abstention' vote made by hitting a NPC dialog button?
You put an NPC with a dialog explaining the votation:
- Some dialog entries explaining the votation, like a faq, with the 'dialog line' icon. They would be a 'faq'.
. How would this change game?
. How would this be made?
. Who would this affect?
. When yould this be made?
And other faq-like questions.
- And a final dialog entry with the 'action' icon (like the one Firstwatch Sergio has at the end to show the skill list). Hitting that las button shows the votation warning:
"Your vote will be definite, what do you want to vote?
.Yes, I want this to be made [Yes].
.I think they have to think more about this [Maybe].
.No, I don't want this to be made [No].
.I don't care If this is made or not [Abstention].
.I'll vote later.[cancel]
