If you play random arenas or team arenas you probably know what I am talking about. The past two weeks I've been using that life bond/shield of regen Mo/E in RA, and its better than a lot of monk builds in e-manage, anti spike and anti-pressure. That build is possible because Balthazar's spirit is an enchantment that you can take full advantage of it without having any points in its attribute.
To balance monk builds a bit my sugestion is that they do with balthazar's spirit the same thing they did to Soul Reaping, reduce the ammount fo energy gain during an ammount of time based on smiting prayers.

It doesn't need any sort of handicap since the energy gained is always 1 point per damage received unlike Soul Reaping which gives you energy per point in Soul reaping attribute.

Balths spirits doesn't need a change. In fact, it really can't. Unless you make it so that the energy gained is scaled from an awesome 0 to 1 energy, there's nothing else you can really do. Plus, why would they nerf it now? The build is already weaker because of the GoLE change, and wasn't overpowered to begin with.

.....well, if Baltha spirit get a nerf, then DoA will be screwed! I would lawl to dead if a Warrior tanking in DoA using Bontiti Def for energy...lawl 1st!

In order to have Balthazar's Spirit work, you need to actually get hit... that's big enough a penalty as it is, especially for a maintained enchantment.
If people still attack you even though you have SoR on yourself, then it's just them being dumb... if they wouldn't attack you, you'd get drained pretty quickly, GoLE or not.
