Yes. If you really want to trade something that's worth more than 100k then most players trade 100k + x ectos. Ectos are generally considered to be worth either 8k each or 1k less than the price the rare material trader is charging.
And a 100K trade will not go through if the person recieving the 100K has any gold on them, even if it's only 1g. Just like a trade won't go through if one party doesn't have enough inventory slots to accept all of the items set for that person.
