or even easier if you don't have it on the map leave Yak's Bend, get wolf within 20 paces and continue on to Ice Tooth Cave for the dire training.
I'm not aware of any snow wolves >lvl 5 sorry

If you just want to charm one (snow, not dire), you can find a few on the road from Yak's to Borlis Pass.

...or if you want to deathlevel off of them or something, do what the others said.

I believe that while elder wolves in Spearhead Peak are the exact same skin as the snow wolves the OP was asking for, I also got the impression he/she wants to make a dire pet. This precludes getting one of the elders...
