Little idea to take some load of the server

Hi, I've been on other forums before, and one in particular used a system to split threads after a certain amount of posts, by doing that they split the topic after a 1000 posts, put it in a link in the first post and people would still be able to discus were they left off, only the main difference by doing this is that when you click a thread the server doesnt have to load over a 1000 reply's, just the OP.

So they copy everything except the first post, put it somewhere else and provide a link to the copyed thread in the first post and continue posting in the new clean section, thus thread's load generally faster while still maintaining the discussion.

This take's off a lot of load in some of the enourmous threads here, some have over 3000 reply's.
