I think it'd be helpful if there was some sort of indicator whether or not you were "within earshot" of a spirit. For most spirits you can tell by whether or not you receive your effect, but the ever-popular low-cost Destruction has no such indicator. This can be extremely important for skills like Spirit Light. It might also be nice to have the number of spirits within earshot located in a single place, perhaps even a counter super-imposed over skills that react with all spirits in the area (like Soul Feast). This would let a ritualist quickly see how many spirits are in the area, and know not to cast spirit-destroying skills if the number seems off (like if an ally cast a lot of spirits nearby).
Maybe we could get a similar counter over Dervish skills that use/purge multiple enchantments, just as a quick way to determine effectiveness.

Earshot=Aggro bubble.
Bumping the flash and sparkle of the game's aesthetic appeal would be much simpler. Like Recuperation, upon summoning, would make a thin shock wave of light with the "healing effect" rising from the ground following the light. Or Shelter, upon summoning, would make the same light wave but a smoky bubble would flash over an effected person.
Or they could just brighten the colors and lights of the spell effects.

They could make defensive spirits remove their 'embrace' when there are allies inside their area. You leave, and they cross armas again.
It would be cool making them move or doing somwthing more that just... staying there... inclined like the Pizza Tower.
