Ok so the energy 1 time every 5 seconds thing was a flop. So my idea is to have it scale up so like.
You get energy once out of every say 5 kills for low lvl soul reaping. Then gradually it goes up to maybe like energy every 1 out of 3 enemy deaths. (minions could have reduced energy giving back) the specific amount can also be changed to be fit.
That way if your owning mobs really quickly you aren't going to run out of energy from 1 gain in 5 seconds like the old one. So instead it is counted on number of enemy deaths. It is kinda like the timer method except I think that's better as it won't punish the necromancer as bad.
What I wrote was just a primary example the stats etc. can all be fiddled with to be as accordingly (lower/ higher amount of energy gain, specific amount of monsters killed to each level)
But it just works as every time you kill say 3 enemies you get a soul reaping part.
That or they could just go back to the way it was but reduce energy so you just keep getting smaller amounts for each kill. But I figured my idea would be a bit more appropriate.
My take on a new Soul Reaping change.

you know i have no idea why Soul Reaping is getting nerfed and why people want it nerfed... its the only thing necs really got going for them and yes i does provide near constant energy if you are killing a lot of shit or a lot of shit is dieing, but other than that its almost useless, really whtever in my eyes but yes this does seem much more reasonable then a timed restricter but i still see no need to nerf SR
