Well, solo farming got nerfed, but before you say the sky is falling:
Anti-farm code got unnerfed
Meaning, you can just zone over and over and just kill the same mob again and again. Since you have 8 players, you just kill 8x faster.
e.g.
1. Find seven friends with R/Rts and Rt/Rs.
2. Zone into Ravenheart or Stygian or any place with lots and lots of monsters in one mob, reasonably close to the entrance.
3. Splinter barrage spike them out.
4. Pick up loot.
5. Run back into the gate of anguish.
6. Repeat from 2.
Since you have 8 players, you kill things 8x as fast... so the only annoying thing is that you spend _a lot of time_ zoning (someone bring a run skill).
And if you can't find 8 players, try hard mode outside some place with 6 or 4 players (e.g. Gates of Kryta... wonder if max sephis axes drop there now).

most new players and players w.o a bunch of friends or thoes not in guilds cannot do anything anymore ... this nerf forces people to play on hard mode to be able to have any sort of wealth
Raxxman
so far hardmode drops have been tripe for me

Here's another "new age" farming idea. Assuming solo farming = 1/8 loot of 8 man farming, it doesn't matter how many players you have on your team, you always get the same amount of loot. So load up with an 8 man (or hero/henchie) team, and mow through a zone or mission in hard mode.
Here's what I'm thinking. Vizunah Square is a good place to try this with the massive numbers of mobs pouring in. I'm a Necro. Load up with Olias, Sousuke, and Zhed, and some healer and nuker henchies. Make me and Olias MMs, Sousuke and Zhed SF (I like the arcane mimicry/dual attunement setup... make Olias N/E and give him Elemental Attunement... he doesn't need any elites to be a good MM). Now, go through and destroy the whole mission, and collect a pile of golds and purples. That's the concept at least, my necro just started nightfall, so I'll have to get to Zhed and Master of Whispers before I can test some ideas.
What needs to be tested? Run the whole mission 2 or 3 times each, recording drops, with different team layouts. The full hero/hench team, all the heros and 2 healer henches, 2 MMs and 2 healer heros, 3 MM (with dark bond for defense) and 1 healer, and maybe even 3 MM and Razah as a minion bomber with everybody carrying a self heal. Doing something like this is the only way to see just how much the loot code is affected by party size. And maybe Vizunah Square is a bad choice for clinical testing because the other party will take more of the loot as your party size gets smaller.
However, we can probably build a more statistically valid test doing something simple like trolls or minos with varying party sizes, but I'll start another thread on that once I get some test results of my own.

Problem: Cantha only allows one healer henchie. And afflicted explode when they die. Meaning you'll have trouble keeping minions up, or keeping yourself up, if you don't bring a very, very good healing monk hero.
Btw, Blood of the master counts your allied minions. You'd kill yourself really, really fast without aura of the lich, which heroes use badly.
