Rather odd problem with graphics? or monitor?

It's rather strange, but sometimes (and most noticeably with text), it appears that 1 letter will be red, one green, etc. The letters will also look sort of blurred. System info: Gateway GT5426E - AMD X2 5000+, 2GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 6150 onboard (it also does the same thing with an nVidia GeForce 7600GS 256mb) and the monitor is a Gateway 19" LCD. Windows version is Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Is this a driver issue? A Vista issue? A bad monitor?

I get weird colors on my LCD sometimes ... try turning it off and back on or try auto-adjusting it (most screens have that option).

You have anything that could be causing electrical interference? Also, any loose/poorly connected cable could be a factor.
Also, are you running at your monitor's native resolution?
And, lastly: Clear Type is great for LCD's...free from Microsoft. You can change the LCD Screen striping direction to conform to your monitor, which may explain the color stripes you are seeing.

Electrical interference? My speakers? Cellphone?
Loose cables might be an issue, as I have difficulty tightening those little thumb screws.
I'll check Clear Type and see if it helps.
