With the introduction of Hard Mode, this now means that there are 2 times as many missions to do in all 3 campaigns. Now...
  • Completing a mission in normal mode does not give you the completion of it in hard mode. (understandable)
  • Completing a mission in hard mode does not give you the completion of it in normal mode. (now hold on a second)

Thus making it VERY hard to get groups for some of the harder (normal mode) missions.

So ..... if you have unlocked the hard mode on your account already with one character, meaning that that character has mastered all missions in a campaign, thus unlocking hard mode for all other characters on your account in that unlocked campaign.

Why is it not that if you do the mission in hard mode you do not get the normal mode reward?

If it is not going to be this way then unlocking hard mode should be character based not account based.

i.e. 2 characters on an account, character one has mastered all missions thus unlocking hard mode for the account. Character two is 1/2 way through Nightfall, but now can choose hard or normal mode for the missions ahead.

Do you see what I mean?

What say you all?

They're giving you the bonus of access to Hard Mode on all of your secondary characters without making you complete Normal mode with them first. Methinks thou dost protest too much.

You also don't have to have a character get Masters on all missions. Just finish the game.

I think they should make you get rewarded for normal mode if you do hard mode (at LEAST for the bonus which is the same).

This wouldn't matter too much for characters doing the missions of the continent they were born on, as to hit lvl 20 they likely played through them as normal. But for characters who are lvl 20 travelling to another continent, it is a must (especially because it's a pain having to do all the missions over on each character).

Except they would be rewarding you twice and giving you a free title.

Basically they just doubled the game, 6 chapters now. And while there is a lot of additional content, it does split the player base yet again and you are totally correct, there will be less ppl to group with. As if it wasn't hard enough in Factions to find groups to do some of the later missions....

I disagree with having missions that are completed on Hard Mode marked for all chars as completed in normal(dare I say easy mode ). Obviously this would mess up some of the titles, not to mention the additional play time for each char to get through any chapter. Once 1 char finished all missions and accessed Hard Mode, they could just do all those missions and then have any number of chars on thier account as "finishing the chapter" because it would all be done for all chars. And I'm sure it would create other problems that I haven't thought of.

Even though it splits the player base, I do like the addition of Hard Mode, for the simple reason that it adds more options and things to do for people playing the game, that is always a good thing in the long run.

I think if you complete a mission in hard mode, you should get normal mode reward, if you can do it in hard, you can do it in normal and you have proven it, simple.

But you haven't done it. If you want the reward for it then prove it by doing it in normal mode too.
You want double rewards and a free title just because you were able to beat the hardest of the two?

Completing a mission on hard mode and not getting normal credit is like getting masters your first trip through a mission and not recieving the standard/expert rewards.

They should just get rid of Hard Mode full stop. The whole thing is a terrible idea in any case, and the way it is implemented makes it worse tenfold.

The difference is you still did standard/expert while you were getting masters.
You can't do normal mode while completing hard mode.
