Keep the farming update in Hard Mode only?
Realm of Fiery Doom
Well, what do you think?
New characters to GW can still buy their shiny low level armor, and it would mean that people couldn't solo farm tomes/anything else new and shiny in Hard Mode. The way I see the new "update" against botters is: botters makes less money; everyone makes less money; there is less money, therefore it is more valuable; therefore the botters, who are simply going to sell the money on the internet, haven't lost out on anything because even if they only have half the money, it's worth twice as much, whereas a "normal" GW player will still have to pay the full cost for armor, skills etc. which are now double cost, effectively.
I'm rambling on a bit, and getting away from the main point. Should the farming update be for hard mode only?

Anybody want to say anything about this?
Mylon
The update primarily changes the whole, "We are farming Sorrow's Furnace. We are only going to bring 5 people, because if we bring any more, we have to split the loot more ways. By the way, we don't need you, ranger. The build doesnt' call for it" kind of mindset. Instead we can just go back to the happy 8 man slaughterfest. Hopefully.

The farming uptade has already been re-verted for greens, golds, rare materials and dyes, tomes and other high end drops. Old news, read the update.

One fell swoop, ANet made it right.

Not really for the non-UW farmers.

But seriously, what on earth are you going to be farming that DOESN'T fall into this category? So what if you get less white, blue, and purple drops in a team of 5 now than you used to in a team of 5.
You STILL get more than you would in a team of 8. The gap is just a little more narrow now.
(Yes, truth, going with a smaller group is still more profitable - just not as insanely profitable as it used to be).

I think farming update should be for for normal only, but with an increased chance for good things (gold items etc.) in bigger groups so it could look like that: in normal mode solo farm would be not much profitable as it is now, but in party people would get more so they would create teams more often. In hard mode people usually create groups, because soloing is harder so if someone is good enough to solo even in hard mode why couldn't he/she get a good reward for it in money and a lot of items as it used to be before update ? What do you think ?

As for the farming code, I don't play Hard Mode, so I have no say, really. As for the Normal Mode code, I don't mind anything ANet does, as long as I still have something to do when I'm bored.

I think overall I'm good with this, will be slightly sad that I can't make as much gold as quickly for my 8+ chars... but the only farming I've been doing in the past 4-5 months is greens for my heroes and LB points <-- only 3k or so to go for max so I'm happy with the changes in response to that.

Any more opinions?
