Ok Anet if you're going to leave this 1/8th drops the way it is and kill solo farming please undo some of the previous changes you made to deter solo farming:
  • Remove all Dying Nightmares from UW. These were only put there to demote solo farming. They are just an annoyance at this point and serve no valid purpose.
  • Restore Protective Bond to a useable form. You've nerfed this into oblivion, again only to deter solo farmers because this was not a widely used PvP skill. Please put it back to the way it was.
  • Restore Bathazar's Aura back to a useable form. It should last 10 seconds like before, and it should have a 10 second recharge. Not sure how this would affect PvP, but I don't see alot of smite builds anyhow...
  • Put the griffons back outside Augury Rock

I know there's much more, but here's a start...

Balth Aura at those specs would be rediculous for PvP. Smites get played though not as much as they used to, but they spent a lot of time nerfing smite skills to where they are now. Balth like that is just nuts. Sorry.

I like the queen outside augry more than some random grifs. A unique boss is better than a few more random griffons.

/signed, except balths aura like that would be insane in PvP. Really, it would be simpler to un-do loot scaling and leave the clocked back normal mode AI to make it able to farm again. Really, all the last AoE nerf did (I'm talking about the one that made meleers run, not the OLD one) was make it harder for the casual player to farm; the chinese bots still got around it. In most situations, the casual player can still farm, it is just way harder. The AoE update was worthless, and supposedly (I haven't tried yet) they removed it completely in this update, although the word phrasing sounds more like a not-complete removal.

As several have already said, this is just not going to happen. If you want to solo farm, go look up builds, there's plenty that still do a perfectly fine job of it, even in UW.

Yeah I guess this doesn't apply anymore since the semi-unnerfed solo farming.

My suggestion for Bath's Aura was to put it back the way it was before. Not 100% my suggestion was the way it was, but that's how I remembered it being.

Prot bond needs something to be done.

Guess the DM's are here to stay.

Loot Changes

o Scrolls
o Dye
o Rare materials, such as Ectoplasm

  • Ecto's still drop normally, so unless you're farming UW for the piles of glittering dust you're not affected at all.
  • You know why? Because Balthazar's Aura doesn't last 10 seconds on a 10 second recharge. And people do use smiting. They actually use Balthazar's Aura with Extend Enchantments.

Ok, this is my first post and I need to vent badly. This new loot sytem is ridiculous. I was just out messing around in arkjok ward in hard mode where i killed about 30 insects and several tusked howlers, just guess how many drops i received....TIME'S UP!! The answer is 3..a half digested armor, a insect carapace, and a crappy not-even-close-to-max blue scythe. How ridiculous is that?! I don't know, I think I'm going to take a long break from Guild Wars if they don't do something about this very very major problem .

I was playing my E/Me with a mist form/fire magic build...no henchies or heroes bc i dont enjoy partying. I was going to attempt it with heroes, but I got extremely frustrated. I've only really played guild wars solo and when I try to party, my group normally sucks...causing me to stick to soloing.

Ok as sum1 stated earlier this newly added HARD mode thats supposed to give us GREATER,BETTER rewards for our HARDWORK (pissoff!) all this did was add an additional way to irritate & piss us the **** off!

No rewards watsoever,i went out solo,w/ hench,w/ REAL people & hmmm imagine that,the same f***in thing over & over again!NOTHING drops but blue items,white items (WOO-HOO I GOT A 9-21DMG WHITE SCYTHE!!) HOLY SH** KNOCK ME OVER & CALL ME MARTHA!

PLZ UNERF them. If you notice ppl cheat to get Gold then turn around and buy stuff then it's prices goes up.Then more people cheat.Afterwards Major Rune of vigor cost 35K.To put this in perspective.Dont nerf solo stuff or it makes it harder for people to get stuff and combat cheaters.Instead they get a bonus.The daggers I have now are worth 20-30K thanks to inflation and nerfing before hand it was worth 10K.

w/rt, rt/me, trappers and countless other builds arent even remotely affected by these things, they are nothing more than a bother for solo 55'ers, if your gonna stop people from solo-ing a place, do it properly, stop EVERYONE from solo-ing, not just the monk. since the nerf. I have seen 0 uses for this. seen 0 builds for it. seen 0 possible ways to use it in anything. Sure, it was powerful, but now, its more useless than Peace and Harmony (well, mabye only just as useless)

Sure, I have no problems with it as I have other skills, but if this was un-nerfed Id use it, but since it is, I never will.

In my humble opinion I feel that this update is a bad choice. I dont understand the reasoning behind this. Now if you want to buy decent armor or weapons you have to buy gold online and pay a rediculious price for them, because this is going to be driving prices up.

I do understand that the problem with the bots...but who cares. You are punishing all of us because of the bots!!! Most of us farm the gold and these green items to sell at market price and then buy our armor and whatever else we need. What about the players that arent in guilds or even the ones that are just starting out, theyre not gonna stay, whats the point?!?!?!? You cant make these Deep runs, and DOA missions with the base crap you get and it will be too hard to get anything else. There must be a diff way to stop these bots than making everyone suffer, I for one MAY never play again that may not bother anyone but for 3 years I have been playing in my spare time and made lots of friends and it sucks that this is happening cause I have a really bad taste in my mouth for Guild Wars now, I was soooo looking forward to GW2. Kinda pointless now.

Dying nightmares are hardly a problem in the UW. There are many good builds that can counter dying nightmares and many builds don't even use enchantments (Such as the Rt/W build).

For the most part, Anet made solo farming profitable again. Besides the fact that you don't get as many crap materials or white items, everything is good. All it basically did was prevent the farmbots from amassing as much gold because they mainly farm for crap white items and sell them anyways. Green farmers and ecto farmers aren't affected nearly as much by this.

qucik plats... man this isnt a grinding game, so u need to play hardmode for slow plats... oh w8 wtf

On another note HERoES SUXX in Hardmode,specially the monks. THE ONLY WAY THEY MOVE is to telling them to. Ah, and they get brain freezes, and let u die if dont manually cast a Reversal of Fortune manually, cause if they dont have healing spells they cant use cheap protection spells to heal.

Protective Bond was not nerfed because of farmers. If they wanted to nerf farmers they would have got rid of the -50 and -20 health items in the game long ago. fact in point anet wants farming bots. thats the only thing any reasonable person can derive from them giving in within moments to the farmers demands to NOT have certain loot scale for (real player) party sizes. As in not NPC henchmen or heroes. BUt a full party of Real players. Since the scale is allowing such abuses so soon, I fully anticipate Anet has no intention of ever removing exploit farmers from the game.

Protective Bond was nerfed because of its abuse in HoH and TA. nothing more nothing less. Farming was an incidental side effect.

Fact is it was not that great a skill to begin with as it was easily stripped, but no one ever took the time to realize this until much later in the game when ANET forced people to play other builds on occasion with their periodic nerfs. which I'm sure is more the reason nerfs happen then anything else. To keep the game interesting and fresh. And not fester down to the same builds forever.
