Best Factions pve ranger
Partyfoul
Stryk
I played through the Factions Campaign until Senji's Corner using R/Me. this was way back when i thought preps stacked. R/Me is pretty good since you can have multiple inturruptions and some energy denial =\.

Natural Strides is NF, not Factions.
Otherwise, yes I will agree with your skill choices.
Elites: if you go Barrage, have no preps, as they get removed by Barrage.

If you want to use a bow, this should be a decent build:
troll ungent, apply poison, savage shot, distracting shot, broad head arrow, rebirth, antidote signet, determined shot
How to use BHA (available from Boreas Seabed mission): hit a caster who is attacked by one of your party's warriors or assassins with it, and then switch through the rest of the enemies to see if there is a skill you can interrupt with savage/distracting, and to spread poison.

I'd say that your options for Factions (assuming you're not a trapper) are:
Core Skill Set:
[skill]Savage Shot[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
You can drop Savage Shot if you don't feel it's necessary, and Troll Unguent if you place great faith in a party healer.
Then you have three major set options:
General Barrager: [skill]Barrage[/skill][skill]Favorable Winds[/skill]
Glass Needler: [skill]Needling Shot[/skill][skill]Glass Arrows[/skill]
Cover Interrupter: [skill]Broad Head Arrow[/skill][skill]Apply Poison[/skill]
Of these sets, only the last is available early in Factions: Broad Head Arrow can be found as early as Vizunah Square, while both Glass Arrows and Barrage show up after Tahnnakai Temple. You can use other preparations with Broad Head Arrow and Needling Shot, but nothing comes to mind that I'd really want to use, and Read The Wind isn't awesomely great for either. Favorable Winds isn't a must-have, but it's a really quick way to add damage to Barrage, and it couples insanely well with a flatbow.
Optional:
[skill]Throw Dirt[/skill][skill]Lightning Reflexes[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Antidote Signet[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill]
Situational Optionals:
[skill]Concussion Shot[/skill][skill]Pin Down[/skill][skill]Debilitating Shot[/skill][skill]Seeking Arrows[/skill]
Stuff you can ostensibly gank from other lines:
[skill]Protector's Defense[/skill]
[skill]Healing Touch[/skill][skill]Judge's Insight[/skill][skill]Mend Ailment[/skill][skill]Smite Hex[/skill][skill]Holy Veil[/skill]
[skill]Leech Signet[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Ether Signet[/skill][skill]Revealed Hex[/skill][skill]Physical Resistance[/skill]
[skill]Conjure Flame[/skill][skill]Kindle Arrows[/skill]
[skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill][skill]Wailing Weapon[/skill][skill]Brutal Weapon[/skill][skill]Guided Weapon[/skill]
Realistically, a Factions-only clone of my build would be:
[skill]Barrage[/skill][skill]Savage Shot[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill][skill]Throw Dirt[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
With two slots reserved for whatever suits my fancy.
Probably way more than you ever needed to know.

Congrats... you picked the ONLY exception. Factions only trappers don't really work, you miss out on the only vital trappers skill (Dust Trap). Don't be afraid to use a pet. Enraged Lunge is obscenely powerful. Btw, Sun Fired. Dark Tranquillity fan? XvArchonvX

Bestial Fury + Charm + Comfort should max Enraged all by themselves... not 100% of the time unfortunately, but still.

Gotta love Dark Tranquillity.
2 l's please Gotta listen to them now...
