Skill TOMES - Why

Ok here is my question:

Skill tomes can only be used "IF" that skill is unlocked on your account. So why do people buy the tomes for silly money when the skill will only cost 1k from the relevent capital city or am i missing something?

They cost no Skill points and next time go to Q&A

Ppl use them sometimes if they deleted a character and they had a bunch of elites or skills so u can just use that to get 1 of those skills back.
Other people unlock them in pvp then use that to there advantage and get the title easy.I could be mistaken about them counting towards the title.

I would assume that *normal* skill tomes will only cost the upwards of 2k eventually. UNless, of course, the mass market for them are people who have no skillpoints left...

The *elite* skill tomes will be worth much more. 1k+1Skillpoint+the trouble of capping from the boss. I think that's worth a lot to many people, especially for say, the mineral springs caps that people never, ever, ever, want to have to make again.

Oh my goodness, I can't agree with this enough! I've done it with my Prophecies Ele, I've done it with my Factions Monk and I swear I'm never doing it again! Not that it was that hard...had a group of 4 guildies, 3 heroes & a hench, plus one of the guildies was afk 90% of the time, but I have having to look everywhere for those danged bosses that're never in the same place twice, and NO ONE getting a single max drop after killing every enemy on the dratted map! Not a single dye besides brown dropped, not a single gold at all, and my most exciting purple (FROM A CHEST) was +16% vs. PLANTS! It was the most pointless thing I've ever done in Guild Wars, I swear!

I don't normally see people buy normal skill tomes, just elite ones.
