Having UW Problems

After the update which made Rare Materials, eg. Ectoplasm's exempt from the new party scaling, I tried doing my first ever solo smite run with my elementalist, all went as planned. Although, when it came to loot, I netted only a few holy rods and one gold(gp) drop. Wasn't this changed in the update. I cleared most of the smites, is it just my bad luck, or some kind of bug?

Sorry if this has been clearly stated somewhere else, but I thought it might something to do my own actions. Anyone else experience the same?

These things scale (i.e. you are getting 1/(possible party size)) regardless. Everything "desirable" doesn't, but that doesn't mean you will still get them. I've duo'd the UW several times over (pre-change), and mostly it's been gold (gp), white and blue and purple aka everything that scales.

It sounds as if things are running as planned, as after all, you aren't gaurenteed Ecto / Gold items every run.

Thank you for that, on average how many ectos do you think I might get from a few runs on average?

EDIT: I just got an ecto Yay, I popped my solo cherry!

might get 1 ecto per run used to be able to get 2 a run

its pretty much random. ill have 3 straight runs with nothing, then ill get 3 ectos on the fourth. if you can get an ecto per run, id say that you were doing really good.
