Very Simple Money idea
Osi Ri S
I was thinking of an idea that would make it a bit easier to get money. Now personally, i really dont have a hard time making money. But this idea is more directed towards the casual player.
Basically, when a creature drops gold, instead of splitting it between the party each party member gets whatever amount was dropped. For Example, say a monster dropped 8 gold. With the current system, if there was 8 people in the party, each person would get 1gold. With my suggestion in place each party member would get the full 8 gold.
I think this idea could really help the casual gamer out WITHOUT hurting the economy and making it too easy to obtain FoW etc.
This was just a simple idea i thought up, so please leave some feedback as to why this would or wouldnt work. TY in advance.

I would like this idea because I only play on weekends.

only if monsters drops 1/8th the gold they do now -.-
Liberations
I don't know... it would work with the current system I guess. But it would just be easier to remove loot scaling in the first place.

It would make getting money way too easy. Now, to get all the money from monsters, you go solo, and it takes some skill to be able to slo the high level areas.
But if get that amount when you're in a full party... people would just hench their way through a few mobs, rezone, repeat until they have a few k's. And in Shiverpeaks, where a monster drops 100 gold, you need to kill 20-30 of them to get 1k. With a full hench team, this is doable in a few minutes. Easy money.
I like the system as it is now. It's logical that when a monster drops something, the party shares it.

i agree with malko and this would just causing inflation making gold less valuble itself so your just causing the economy to flip for a month with no result or goal ~_~

Does anyone who signed really, and I mean really, know what 'INFLATION' means?
More money for everyone does not work. Countries have proven that in the past.

I know what it means =D
Anyway, yeah if everybody got the same amount of gold, then solo farming would be out of the question, unless if you're getting items. But if the golds drops aren't divided and everybody gets the maximum amount, money will come extremely quickly.
Does-it-Matter
A linear bonus (as this is, all persons gain an equal amount of gold, just a higher amount) does nothing to give players more "purchasing power," it just means prices will go higher as the player base "has more resources."
There. Inflation. Spelled out so simply I hope I don't have to say it again for the next month (I think I'm up to about 10 times since that farming update...)
If you run at a 8 mph pace, and I run at a 6 mph pace, both of us increasing our pace by .5 mph does nothing to bridge the gap.
THAT is what I think people want, a bridge in the gap. For that, you need a diminished gains curve (one of those bent thingies that levels off as it increases.)
In my five second brain storm, I don't see a way to implement that in Guild Wars. You couldn't base it off the amount of gold pieces a person currently has, because then they would simply hide it on another character. Or even if you went by account, it would profit those who have multiple accounts only.
You can't go by items the person has, because then it would involve ANet implementing a pricing system on mods and skins (and that's the last thing a collector wants... but the rest of us can always hope! ) And this is still prone to hiding funds in multiple accounts.
Ultimately, there is no solution (that I can conceive at this moment) that would benefit the lower class (income-wise) over the dedicated farmers WITHOUT punishing the non-farming group-using players.
(Purposeful) Edit: ... well there was the first farming change a couple days ago, but we saw how quickly the uproar backlashed and it was changed.

The only use of gold drops is to 'sightly reward' parties.
If you go with henchmen gold is lost.
If you go solo, less gold drops.
I'd rather completely remove gold drops. You still get more by identifying and selling a white item than from most gold drops.
