Thirsty River Hard Mode Bonus Question
LoKi Foxfire
Hey, does anyone know if the King still has to live in order to get the bonus in Hard Mode? I've only tried this once but as soon as I run in they all begin attacking the King incredibly fast. Should I bring an extra monk or?
It's kind of annoying to do this mission again and I'm 21/25 for Guardian of Tyria. :/
PS: Anyone got any tips for Aurora Glade in HM?; I'm going to try that soon too. :O

Just give the king a healing seed or some prot when you run into the last part of Thirsty River. Found most missions to be quite easy on HM.
Aurora glade i did with a bonder, comm rit, healers boon, 2 warrior and a SS, the warrior was running with sprint and enraging. No problems, and killed each mob before the next came.

I've been getting extremely upset at this mission (Aurora Glade) in hard mode. One time I made it all the way to Less Longbow to activate the bonus, and thought I had him saved (he had full health) but I wasn't watching his heath as my henchies and I took out the while mantle attacking him, and they killed him. Thought we could have defeated them faster.
Second time, I saved him and made it all the way to the end where you attune the portals. I attuned the closest portal to the branch where the crystals spawned, and just stood in the middle and planned on picking off the runners first (as I did in normal mode and it worked). But since they are such a high leveled enemies the runner managed to run past us and attune the portal and we lost . I even had bulls strike to knock him down, and we still couldnt get him in time.
It could be done easily with 1 person who has a few running skills who just keeps a few portals attuned, but if you want to do it with henchies forget about it unless you can stall those runners long enough to kill them. Maybe pin down or deep freeze
If anyone wants to do hard mode with me I can be a runner, or you can be the runner while I take out the groups with my heroes/henchies. IGN: Forest Sage

I beat both Thirsty River and Aurora Glade. I'll give you some insight into what I did to beat them with just heroes and henchies....
Copied from HM tips thread in Riverside:
Aurora Glade: If you want to get the primary/bonus the easy way, bring along Razah as a Spirit Spammer and have your hereos/henchies spread out near the base shrine. When you first come upon there, start running your crystal to the one the White Mantle capture while your Rt Hero sets up spirits. Run back after you recap it and capture the middle shrine after the White Mantle get it. Basically you need to kill off all the enemies - it's way to hard if you try to run around constantly because a mob of level 25 enemies will own you...
Basically the best thing to do in Hard Mode is to let them come to your waiting heroes and lay down the law with spirits / nukes... This lets you complete both the mission and the bonus as the Demogauge will be left alone. Spirits are awesome here. I highly recommend you use a spirit spammer!
Thirsty River: Rush the King at the start and kill everything. I used a MM here and it worked excellently. Just need high DPS and a few interrupts (my monks bring Power Drain)
Save the King! As soon as you go, rush right to the king and protect him! The Cursebearers die really fast with a MM and their own sac skills. A lot easier than I thought it would be. Don't go to the right immediately and save the King - he does a good amount of damage with Fireball!

Little confused on Aurora . So you flag the henchies and heroes in front the nearest flag you encounter when you first enter the area, and cap that portal as well. Then while the rit sets up his spirits in front of that flag, you run and capture the portal that the mantle first capped while the heroes/henchies defend themselves against oncoming enemies? And you keep capping back and forth, helping when possible?
If so, do they defend themselves pretty good? Not too clear on how to keep the portals attuned and the henchies alive and taking out the runners at the same time Thanks for the help!

Easymode for Aurora Glade is NOT to camp the enemies. That's actually the hardest possible way. You need one good runner constantly running crystals (maybe two) and the rest of your team splits from your mainteam, heads the right way and ignores all the mobs streaming out.
You can walk past their camp without drawing ANY aggro and then just kill the Demagogue. Once he dies, his buddies die too and the mission progresses. So one or two runners and the other 4 immediately go for the demagogue.

You do realize i'm talking about the hardmode? Wait no! Actually you don't. You thought you had it easy to flame and bash me. Sucks to be you. Because you just owned yourself really bad.
But to spell it out for the likes of you:
1 or 2 Runners. Get Crystal. Woop.
4 or 5 Partymembers. Rest of team. Go right. Own Demagogue. All enemies die. Easy. Even in hard.
Understood that? Doubt it.

to be fair, you did start your post 'Easymode' which i guess lead to a little confusion. had you have said 'easy way to complete........' that may have been different. Why are people to quick to bash each other these days? i must be getting old

Well you guys can bash him all you want for suggesting what he did in normal mode, but I used the same method in HM and it worked fine. Why on earth would you stand there and try to kill all the mantle when you can send 2 people around the back to get the demogogue while someone keeps at least one shrine attuned. It's so painfully easy.
With all heroes, just attune the closest altar, then grab a crystal and run to the right altar. Flag your heroes around the back way to kill him while you keep running the crystals. Piece of cake.

Get the f*ck off my back noobcakes. Seriously. The method was suggested to be applied in hardmode. If you're simply too dumb to understand a simple metaphor don't bother trying to bash another person.
If you're too retarded to realize that you might not know everything about a mission, go and try before you try to bash another person. Did you? No. Thought so.
Kill the big ugly white mantle guy, his buddies die, you get the bonus and the mission proceeds as normal. Plus you haven't even broken a sweat. You fail to see how this forces the term easy into a so called hardmode? Are you really that daft? Fighting 1 guy is ultimately easier than fighting his 50 buddies. Go for the Hive, not the amarda of insects.
This is the case in normal mode as well as in hardmode. If you don't know the mission down to the last detail, shut the f*ck up. If you do it right you'll see roughly 50 white mantle all die at the same f*cking time.
For now i'm enjoying my completed Guardian of Tyria Title and am working on the canthan version. GG moron. GG. And now please safe yourself the disgrace of failing even more.
The next time someone shows you a method as to how you can complete a mission in a way that saves you a lot of hassle, say thanks and enjoy it. If you don't believe the method go and try it yourself. Just blindly bashing ahead makes you look really retarded.

If you're unhappy, you can defend yourself in a more mature matter, or simply don't reply to those who you think are flamers. It takes two to tango
