Dyes are sold to traders. The price for buying a dye from a trader is thus always somewhere between what you get when selling to trader, and what you pay when you buy.

In pre-searing dyes are generally a little bit cheaper, I would say about 75-80% of the price. The real cheap dyes, however, can be a little bit more expensive.
