Upgrade NPC's in Hardmode

I can understand the uber monster groups with uber skills for hardmode - its annoying, but you adapt somewhat and learn.


But frankly Rambo Rurik is completely useless in Hardmode. It is unbelievably annoying when you survive for so long against overwhealming odds and then the dumbass gets all emotional and decides to end it all by picking a fight with 80000000 Charr. Same for King Ironhammer and any other NPC. Escort missions are bad at the best of times, especially if soloing with heroes - but in hardmode its almost pointless


So Anet, please upgrade a few of the key NPCs so the stand a fighting chance against lvl 26+ monsters in these missions.

Jalis at least follows you, he just doesn't retreat the moment he sees an enemy...
But Rurik... he's a frigging idiot. He's not quite as bad as the NPC during the 15 attribute quest in Minister Chos though... i was doing that a few weeks ago. After half my hench got wiped... he runs off before i can res them. I have to chase after him to kill them quickly... after they're dead, he runs into the next mob at 5% health!

I think rurik should get a new set of skills for hard mode or have double health it's a bit annoying how easily he can die.

yeah, he should at least be a decent warrior in HM....

Everyone before HM came out said how bad a tank Rurik was. Personally, IMO, he was a fairly good tank (strong healing signet and whenever I played with him he never went Leeroying into everything).

Now HM is out. Now I know why some people hate Rurik so much.

Rurik went from lvl 10 to lvl 20, while some measly lvl 7-or-so devo went to lvl 26. Come on!

I think they buffed his stats though much higher than level 20.

I was doing Ice Caves of Sorrow yesterday. Evennia was spamming Heal Area for 230 health. Works out to level 19 Healing Prayers i think. And since all enemies have 1 stat line at 19, 1 at 16 and what seems to be there primary stupidly high at 20 (some of the Necros have 20 Soul Reaping anyway).
