Ectos have been 11k, 10k, 9k, 8.5k now..
What is going on?!
I managed to sell all my ectos at 8k ea.
I hope that's good.
Can someone explain me what's going on with ectos atm, and what you think is going to be the price in a few days?

The update on friday made it so that when you solo farmed you got 1/8th of the drops you got before, including ecto. Everyone started buying ecto's when they knew that while it was still cheap because it was certain they would increase in price dramaticly since in essence solo farming had no more use (since no matter how many people you were with in a group you got drops as if you were with a full group) and thus ecto prices rose by the hour (quit litterally, when I went off they were at 13k and I think it went up a bit still after that)
The follow-up update made so that green drops, rare drops, rare material drops (including ecto) and several other types returned to their normal drop rates, and in normal mode the AI was decreased so enemies scatter only at very high damage (the VwK W/Rt build they don't scatter at all any more) so farming UW has become twice as fast as before the update for a good number of commen builds, so ecto prices have dropped under what they first were.

they will drop.. they went up coz ppl panicked, started dropping a lot in uw, dropped down, ppl started buying, went up, now they are dropping down because the buying is starting to subside.
in the long run theyll drop down imho.. used to be 6k a long time ago, i see them getting 7k soon enough

I think the price will drop more so get used to it.
Farming for money and noramal mercnant items is dead.
People are going to move into ecto farming since ectos are not affected by the loot changes.
Bots will hit the UW to farm ectos to get their money.
Good thing that you sold your ectos.

Ectos are a self regulating (to a degree) form of currency. The farmers, the ones who get it, don't want to sell it for too cheap a price, so they, as a collective (but not through collusion, just general self interest) will try to keep the ecto price up. Since it is, not easier, but more common to get ectos now, many would be buyers might go to the UW as a means of getting their own ectos and an increase of ectos in the system would be the result.
If ectos remained, from the farmers price, at 8k or so, a counter market, maybe through PvE guilds that would do the UW (like mine) would come about, possibly. Now, since the ecto price would still be 'high', but there are more of them, at cheaper prices, the 'high' price of ectos may drive a steady rate of inflation. More ectos=more gold, and more gold would mean that items could be sold at a higher price.
If ectos drop in price, we would still highly priced items, but they would generally be worth the same, i.e 100k + 8E before update, and maybe +12 E after it. The price has gone up, but you are still paying the same amount, because ectos have dropped.

Ecto prices are declining in general, but in terms of if you want to make a bit more money, sell to players. They often buy them for less than the trader would sell to them for, but for more than the trader would buy from a person for. (Not too hard to find people buying ectos, look in ToA or LA)
Took me 5 days to farm my 15k armor, and that was before the farming code was implemented, and before Ettins were nerfed. To me I will never get FoW, and 15k is enough of an achievement.
