From what i have read and heard to access hard mode you must beat a campaign and be lvl 20.

My ranger has just reached lvl 20 and I have just defeated Glint so I am ascended. Even though I have not completed the campaign I can access hard mode.

Was there a change I did not know about or did I just miss something?

to do hard mode in any campaign you must have already beaten that campaign with at least one character in normal mode.

For all campaigns, if one of your toons has completed the campaign then all your other level 20's can access hard mode for it.

How do I unlock Easy Mode? If you fail a mission six times in a row the enemy numbers get halved on your seventh through 14th tries and then halved again? LOL

Then you could run into the mission solo, die, zone, repeat 19718616506451 times until there's 1 enemy, grab your henchies and own the mission.

Seriously, normal mode is so easy now it's not even funny. Go play an hour of hard mode then go back to normal mode with the same builds that worked in hard mode. I guarantee you will be able to destroy everything. Case in point. Things got dicey when Koss (moron....get out of my heroes list!) aggroed 4 groups of Stone summit right inside the beginning of the Icedome (getting friend through to copperhammer). There were agood 50 or so stone summit on him and my other 2 warrior henchmen. Using dunkoro as prot and me as healing we were able to keep them alive for the 30 seconds it took my SF ele to DESTROY every single one of them. Same build I used to play through a few areas in hard mode.

This may explain why I finally got through the Sanctum Cay mission. I'm glad...There is an awful lot of gaming ahead of me still and if I don't have to beat myself and heroes and hench heads against the brick wall so many times because it is easier now...GREAT! Having the heroes may have helped? Configuring and filling in some of their skills may have helped? And playing it umpteen times may have helped? I'm just VERY glad that mission is over and I can move on into new territory.
