What's a playable ping rate?
Mr. Fahrenheit
And don't go saying "Under 250" not all of us have a fast internet connection.
GodofAcid
Under 25.. oh wait nm
I'd say things begin to get dicey above 500, and 1000+ is pretty difficult to play.

yeah its around 500 anything more just gets frustrating
Thomas.knbk
Don't try to interrupt anything with 500 tho.
Don't try to infuse either.

I'd say under 200 is playable. 200-500 is playable for some buids. Above 500 is just dumb.
ichigo_panty
Under 800 pings. That is the orange ping. Anything more than 800 pings, it will be laggy.
summer_goth
I'm playing with an average ping of between 600 and 800. Sometimes it can be a bit laggy (especially in towns), but it's still playable.
Eh, though I'd love to play with a ping under 200.

I don't play my ranger above 500. Guild Wars is -strange- with rangers and high pings.

There's something seriously wrong within Guild Wars. It's the only game I own, and I own quite a few, that suffers from constantly high latency, i.e. 250+. I've reported it to my ISP and they've ran all sorts of checks and came to the same conclusion, the problem lies with the game's servers.
Before people say oh, it's your connection. It isn't. I have a damn decent 8MB DSLMax line with no traffic shaping applied at all on my package and within other games, like BF2 and FS9, latency never gets above 50ms.
To be honest, this problem with latency and spikes of upwards of 2,500ms is making some aspects of Guild Wars, like interrupts, monking and spiking, impossible to play at the moment.
Oh well, that's my two penneth.

Agree, in most FPS that I played, my ping never go above 2 digits. In gw it's between 70-257 with no lag, sometime when it goes above 500+ that's when the game become unplayable.
Some guy posted his ping rate yesterday with a pic and he had 5 digits (10K+) ping! he said that he also had 6 digits ping rate before!

Just 8mb with BT, I also have one of those new router white box from them as well. And I don't use wireless, it's bad for gamming imo. Wait a sec! Broadway. in New york? If yes, then I'm not gonna be much help.
One of my guildy have this awesome 24 mb connection speed, 3gb of datas for under an hour and he still has lag from time to time in this game.

Ive played with just hero/hench with really bad 1500+ ping before without TOO much difficulty. Playing with other humans though requires 600 or less I would say.

Does anyone know if ANet have even acknowledged that there's a problem with latency in game? I mean, surely all the people experiencing this can't all be having the same problem.
