Why is it so hard to find info for Gate of Anguish?
B.N
I have been searching and asking around about what I need to be able to complete these quests in the Gate of Anguish. I have a R/any and am wondering if anyone can help me get setup so I can do these missions. It all seems a bit to confusing with every party looking for specific builds and characters to farm with. I hope I haven't blown this out of proportion, its just confusing to me.

Well, it's always been my understanding that interrupts are the shizzle in Torment.

Here is a list of quests for Nightfall including Gate of Anguish. They usually have a small walkthrough with tips.

Yea i have read about GoA in wiki, its was pretty helpful. If interrupts are needed that well, i might have to pull out my old R/Me interruption build. :P Ill re-read the wiki on it for now.
If anyone else has any extra info, don't be hesitant to share.

generally speaking, there are no real team roles for the entirety of the mallyx quests for Rangers. Trappers can do stygian veil, or splinter barrage there as well. Trapping being about the only possible way to complete the area (with help). Also if you are familiar with famine duos, you may be able to farm titans if you got a monk friend.

I don't think I am familiar with the famine duos, is there a site that I can read up on the whole thing?

All you ever need to know is in the game is right in front of you. All you need are the skill descriptions unless there are skills you haven't unlocked yet. If you haven't unlocked some skills I suggest this link -->http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Index_of_skill_lists
B.Y.O.Bombs
The skills say what they do. %SystemRoot%\system32\calc.exe can help with the skill usage.

You can be a BiP for DoA teams. I often take a ranger, when there is no necro or if the ranger is my friend

Cookie cutter build is eles, tanks, monks and the odd nec. If you want to play ranger in DoA, make a better team build than the current 'balanced' one, and force everyone to join you. Otherwise complete the game on a useful char.

You can farm gems in stygian veil by trapping (there is a thread in the ranger forum here at guru), and in the foundry of failed creations by teaming with a 55 monk and going famine ranger as mentioned above. If you want to actually complete quests, then pretty much your only option for PUG groups is to go ranger BiP, as free wind kindly detailed.
Good basics of the build here, although I have never gone 55hp BiP. You should be 1hp everywhere except foundry for maximum efficiency (by sacrificing yourself to gain DP). As far as I am aware, the only way to get 55hp is to use the -50hp offhand from ascalon, which doesn't give you max energy. You need as much energy as possible to BiP everyone when situations get tight, so I would recommend getting a full plus energy offhand. Plus 20% enchants is also very useful for BiP. I like to take blood ritual as well as BiP to use when the bonder is bonding up the eles too. A rez is of limited usefulness since you will die much more quickly than the others. Energizing Wind can be useful for City. And a pet is usually required for Foundry.
I should warn you though, there usually isn't a shortage of necros, and rangers are less efficient BiPs than necros, so some teams will still not take you. This is purely because rangers cant get 13 in blood magic to max Blood Is Power without using awaken the blood, which is costly, and also because ranger's energy pool is smaller than a necro.
Harsh words maybe, but true. I brought my mesmer through NF first, and then brought through my necro, purely for the sake of getting GoA teams.
