This is about what I believe should be done to 'PvP Only' to make it a fun, more enjoyable experience, and actually encourage more people to take part in it.

I believe that characters should not start at level 20. You should have to level your character by doing many battles against various opponents of about the same level as you. After ever successful kill or win, your character would gain experience and move up in levels.

Faction could be used to buy everything for your PvP only characters. It could of course be used for skills, but also for weapons and armor. This would encourage people to participate in battles and give them more incentive to win. Faction should also be trade-able, thus giving it a good gold face value while providing more incentives to players to make the PvP atmosphere a more intense and fun experience.

Leveling for PvP Only characters would be done by facing off against characters of close to the same level as you. You would be able to travel between all the battle isles, then enter any battle you wish. The only difference would be that the 'computer' would try to match you up against characters + or - 1 to 2 levels of you.

There should be armor traders as well as weapons traders, they would sell you different armors and weapons based on your level. There could also be a 'hardcore mode' similar to the one on Diablo II, except when you lost, instead of losing your character you would lose either your items or all your faction. This would also increase the PvP competition.

Another good thing would be 'betting duels'. Duels which you could place gold or items on. This would also create a more fun PvP environment. This would also discourage people from gold farming, knowing that they could risk their money in other ways. These duels would of course be 1v1, an new arena would need to be created for this but it would be very fun for the betting man.

I also believe there should be more types of games. One in particular that I would enjoy would be a death match. A free for all in which the player who finishes the game with most kills would win.

'Betting Arenas', these would be arenas where you must have a certain amount of gold to enter the game, for example, 1 platinum. If you die, you lose your 1 platinum and can continue fighting to gain it back. However, if you kill someone you get their 1 platinum. You would be able to gain as much as you want, but if you die with say 10 platinum, you would lose it all. This would also be a great way to improve PvP playability.

Summary:
-Level your PvP Only characters from 1-20
-Faction Trade-able
-Faction based NPCs that sell you trade-able weapons, and non-trade-able armors.
-Duels which you can bet on
-'Betting Arenas'
-Death matches

All of these things would be optional except the leveling of your character.

Please share your comments and criticisms. I hope the Devopers look into this, it would be great if any of these features could be added to the game. Thanks.

Well this would be ok but if we did betting duels ANET would have to change the Rating to have Gambling in it which they probably don't want to do. Also, i like the idea of not starting at 20 but they should have a not starting at 20 and a starting at 20, to give both sites. More types of games is cool, and i think there will be alot more pvp games in GW2 so wait for that

Ever from the start GW has been cut in half on this.

If you want to start from new and level up and take your time, you go pve.
If you want to jump in without a wait and be on the same playing field as the rest ( theoretically ) you jump in pvp.

Yes in both sides the game remains true to its idea on , if you have a few minutes before dinner, you can just jump in do a mission/battle and leave again.

If you want the end result without too much choice NOW (weapons, pve only weapons, cool armor you get the idea) you jump in pvp

If you don't mind having to do a bunch of stuff to get cool weapons, pve only weapons, cool armor etc and eventually get to the end result exactly how you want your character to be, you do pve. ( even if it could take 2 months to get the perfect you)

*Note this only applies to making a character, nothing else.

Yeah being able to start at 20 or 1 would be a good option. That way if you wanted to rise in the ranks of PvP then you could do so.
