i went to my normal farming spot when we got hard mode to check the drops, and it has proven to be a decent spot to get ranger tomes. - so far i've pulled 2 elite and 7 normal ranger tomes in about 2-3 hours of farming there.
i've been going around to other boss's of different classes, that are quick to get to , but after a few hours with each boss haven't turned up any tomes. - that's when i figured that a thread where we can tell each other good places to get tomes would help us all.

I've been running the Show of Power LB farming on HM for two days and got two necro elites and two elementalist elite tomes for my trouble. Oh and a whole lot of golds from locked chests along the way ^^

The A/E Silver solo could farm bosses for Greens and Elite tomes.
P.S; anyone know where I can find Lots of Mesmer foe to farm, I kinda need lotsa Me tomes.

There is a boss spawn just outside Sardelac Sanitarium
It can be killed easily without dealing with other mobs. Tho I haven't got any tome from him yet

Nar don't bother with them, both are eliteless, and I spent ahour testing almost 75 runs, no tomes. They are tome less. But mind you a Victors spoil 55 can kill both

I've tried farming all the bosses outside sunspear great hall for at least an hour each, no tomes to show for it. The large groups of spiders are cake for a 55 build, though

now after a few weeks after the hardmode release i think there are more known spots to farm tomes,
warrior tomes(non elite) can be farmed at elona in tyria
ranger non+elite at rihlon refuge
ele non+elite outside of kamadan i think, there is the little tutorial boss with his henchs
i thinks is usefull to farm the normal tomes as well, u can unlock them with baltharas points and just learn them , i got atm 67 non elite ranger tomes at rihlon so my ranger can get a lot skills withput leveling for skillpoints or have to buy them for 1 p
my hope is that you know some nice spots to get non elite or elite tomes and share them with me
i also tried to farm yolon insects for warrior tomes, but cant farm them ^^ tried alot builds but im to bad
so plz post your farmspots or ideas with screens or builds , would be nice

I think Warrior Elite Tomes can be farmed by killing Bonetti in Old Ascalon, haven't tried it yet though...

Well don't bother with Chor(war), Mindcouder(Mes) or TomTom SpiritEater(Rit).
I did all 3 near 150 times each as an A/E or E/A and Chor was the only one that dropped it.
Near 450 times total for 1 Elite Tome ...
Like mentioned above, I too have gotten more elite tomes (and regular tomes ;/) out of the chests in the mirror of lyss then I have off bosses.
Although as a side note, I went to do Yammiron. A chest kept popping where he was. Finally bought a key, well I was going and ran into a chest, so I used it .. Elite Sin Tome ... Killed Yammiron .. Elite Mesmer Tome :P

mindclouder and chor isnt such a bad farm. for me, they were droppin 1tome per 20-30 runs or so. now if u want bad, try woespreader. literally killed him 500+ then i decided to jus drop it, played some missions and my necro just capped s.victor instead of tome-ing it. scareater for the win. that thong wearing fag drops elite tomes like whoa.

Anyway, spending 1-2 hrs farming for that elite tome or 30-60 mins for getting to the boss and killing it? Tomes are a nice side-effect for farming, but should not be the main objective. Ofc selling the tomes is the objective for most, though they are flooding the market nowadays...
