Let People play the Monsters...
SotiCoto
It might sound like a completely insane idea... but imagine it this way...
...And this is mostly a notion for the PvPers....
Couldn't an option be put in place in certain outposts to allow additional players to be placed in control of a randomly selected boss within an explorable area or mission (temporarily displacing the AI) for a randomly selected active instance.... allowing them to act outside of their standard behaviour patterns and patrol routes and make the game a little more.... unpredictable? ... And in exchange it could build up an account-wide title track of some sort for kills as a monster boss or somesuch?
I mean... I'm not sure how such a thing would be received... but if nothing else it would give PvPers a reason to play in PvE... and I'm tending to think that having a human playing as one of the bosses every once in a while would certainly make me think on my feet without the predictable tedium of normal PvP.
[Admittedly, I just want to get hold of Mungri Magicbox and Star Ancient Koosun.]

Do you really think ANET will change there maps to hold everyone rather than giving people a private copy of it? Anyways this is a dumb idea regardless and it would be impossible to add.

You answered yourself, an "insane idea" . This will surely not happen.

Wouldn't need to take away the instancing at all...
I just thought it would be amusing if it could be done.

I was playing the LOTRo Beta.
They allow you to play a monster in the PvP instances.
I think such an application can work in GW since theres NPCs in GvG and HA.
Its not too far fetched to have another player control the Ghostly Hero or the Guild Lord.
Or maybe those fricking turtles in Aspenwood.

Lets just put it this way...
At any given time... in a particular explorable area... there are likely to be a few groups in particular instances IN the area (though some areas might be completely unoccupied).
Someone could basically have themselves queued up on the monster-play system... and the system could find them an instant with at least one boss not currently in combat in.... and then put them in charge of that boss until said boss died... at which point they'd go back to the area they started in.
I mean... just for example... I start in Haus Zu Heltzer... and decide I want to play a boss in Ferndale. It queues me up while it goes through other people wanting to play bosses... finds a group currently in Ferndale... and then loads me into the instant in control of.... for instance... Mungri Magicbox! ^_^ ... Then of course I get to control Mungri Magicbox for a while, guide him away from his usual haunt and go looking for the heroes in the area... complete with possé of dredge in tow. I engage in combat with them and continue fighting until they give up or Mungri dies... then I get sent back.
It seems a simple concept in theory.... though I'm not sure how complicated it would be to implement.
Given what A-Net have managed with Hard Mode though, I can't imagine it would be too tough.

So you wait for an hour until a group reaches you, you whipe them, they rez, you whipe them again, etc, until you can wait another hour for another group?

No not signed. Why would ANET do this... because they want to make it so you can use a monster...wurms, Guild Wars 2, as close as you will get.

I would like a mesmer skill letting you to 'posses' an enemy and walk between the enemy lines undetected... but this particular idea seem to complex to be implemented in GW1.
