Siege of Tsumei Village - HM?
SotiCoto
I'm just curious now... since I use the "Siege of Tsumei Village" quest in normal mode to solo-farm dye with my Assassin.... I'm wondering what you could get there farming it in Hard Mode with a 55/SS monk?
I haven't even tried it in Hard Mode (I fear it)... but given you get an entire hoarde of Crimson Skulls coming right up to the gate without having to go anywhere.... wouldn't it make a potentially decent farming spot? The Crimson Skull folks have a tendency to bunch together, so SS should work. [My main fear would be the large number of Mesmers there, potentially].

How well do they bunch up? I might have to get this quest on my rit and try to farm them with splinter barrage.

Tsumei Village... the outpost west of Shing Jea Monastary.... I forget the name of the fancily dressed guy who gives it out.... but you get it after taking the Togo's Ultimatum quest.
Somehow I managed to miss that altogether with my Assassin when he went through Shing Jea Island. I came back for the year of the pig festival and was surprised to find there was a quest I hadn't done. I did "Togo's Ultimatum".... and then got "Siege of Tsumei Village".
The moment I stepped outside, I saw about 4 groups of Crimson Skulls all converging on me... and instantly thought "O_O ... Dye-farm much!" ... I then promptly went back into the village, ditched my heroes, built up a A/Mo solo build and charged back out there to take them on.
O'course I was able to do that because they were all exceptionally low-level. In Hard Mode I know my Assassin would be shredded within instants... but a 55/ss Monk could probably pull it off. Would have to be a Canthan-born one though as Shing Jea Island only gives quests to Canthans.
[Sk8tborderx.... I'll try to get a screenshot of it later in Normal Mode to demonstrate. Rest assured there are a LOT of them though.. and most of them zerg-rush the gate right at the start. There are a few second casting time before they get close (might be less in HM) and a few villagers and guards to hold them off initially.]

Crippling anguish, accumulated pain, wanderlust from the rits and using ss the monks heal it all up with healing burst, you would think they would go to 0 nrg a lot...maybe famine?
Man I would give almost anything to be able to do this with my monk..but he is a proph char

You're right.... you'd need immunity to knockdown and at least 4 Health Regen... but I reckon a Canthan-born Mo/D could probably manage that.

Maybe you can add, Fleeting Stability, and Mystic Regen = gg

... Only problem would be the enemy monks with Healing Burst...
Would need some means of putting a stop to them... Some sorta Smiting Prayers something to nix them first. The parties are clustered close together so the CS monks won't have any trouble healing their entire party...
Aside from THAT.... they'd be very easy to farm.
There are loads of them... but they keep themselves in separate groups of not-too-epic size... and there is a set of 9 groups each on either side of Tsumei Village (though I only ever NM-farmed the ones on the East side).

Correct, hence the op stating a canthan born mo/d would probably have no problems and me saying I wish my monk could do that quest. However as also stated the healing burst monks could heal soj dmg even easier than the dmg from ss, some scourge healings would make them hurt though I would imagine.
