Really wierd problem

Right whenever I log in to Guild Wars and select my character it minimizes to the desktop. However the music still plays and the cursor stays as the GW one. I can't move out of a 800x600 box on the desktop aswell.

This is really annoying me since the Boardwalk is opening soon and stuff and I really don't want to miss it

My computer is a few years old but I don't think it has anything to do with perfomance. Any ideas on how to fix this?

So the game is rendering video but when you're on the character selection screen and select the character you minimize. I was thinking a video driver problem but you're initially able to see the video. Now I'm thinking that maybe a key on your keyboard is stuck and is telling Windows to minimize your current active program when you click on it. Do me a favor and repeatedly tap your Alt and Ctrl keys then try to start GW normally again just to check that. If that's not the case Then see if you're able to get past the character selection screen in windowed mode. Right click on the GW shortcut you're using, go to Properties, and add ' -windowed' (w/out the quotes, note the space) to the end of the Target field.

Not sure that a key is bound to minimize to windows, aside from Windows + D. Good call on the -windowed tag, though.
