12 characters or is it 13, and 4 or 5 mules....(17 slots)
why create more.....started with and ele, well then I wanted to play mesmer, but I hadnt gotten to the point where I could change secondaries....so I made a mesmer, then necro looked good.....and then a guildee complained about the lack of monks....that was my first 4, then factions came out, made a rit, and a ranger (liked the looks better, and my mes had ranger as secondary so I wanted to try it as primary).....well I liked rit so I wanted a rit secondary character, so another mesmer was born......and wanted a girl monk (didnt like the monks options for girls in prophecy, not into buns on my head)....so I made a female monk in factions.....well I really liked playing rit so I made a rt/w----had to be male! and nightfall came out, made a paragon....made a dervish and deleted it....made another ele and another mesmer (ok I get carried away with making new characters, but its a lot of fun to do it).
oh, yeah where this is going.
there are currently 10 classes to play....if you just make one of each thats 10 characters....now mix up the secondaries (this was before you could change on a whim)....and thats, ugh too many to figure out at 2am
Lots of people like to make new characters to have ones in every chapter, some people like to make characters of both sexes, some people just like to play the game with a different character-----tons and tons of reasons to have more than one. Personally if I had only been able to make one character and had to play that one the whole game, I would be bored out of my gourd! Its nice to change from killing to kiting (ok not so much fun), to minion factory.....to healing the party----its all different skills involved. Playing a warrior requires different skills than monking or casting, and sometimes I just like to sit in back and shoot arrows at the monsters and let the tanks and casters do their jobs..
(ps I pve not pvp, that might be different, I have no idea).
