Sanctum Cay hard mode strategies and builds (last part)
Niila
I know few of you have done this already, so what heros/builds/skills did you use to accomplish this quite difficult task? Savant's AoE damage kills monks fast and when monk-boss rushes in there is no hope to kill him fast enough before more waves do come in.
So far I have tried some different builds
War
2x sf
ss
zb/prot
WoH
Also tried with 3 monks backline but we didn't kill fast enough, and got overwhelmed yet again.
So share your strategies please!

Hi for this mission I did the bonus and mission seperately, check wiki for bonus. Tips - bring wards, Ward against Harm, Wards against Melee, and Wards against elements. I am a Rt/ele using this for my team and had max my attrib for water and earth. Use a LOD monk, some human players. If you are using a rit dun use spirits they die too fast. Use fast skill recharge earth/water weapons if you have any.
Dun pull more than you can. Always stay in wards. Regen b4 moving on. There are a few patrols which can be avoided. If possible do bonus and mission seperately.

Try bringing someone to shutdown/interupt the casters.

Did it myself too yesterday. Our build was
Splinter Weapon-barrager
Searing Flames
Minion Master
Spirit Spammer
Monks (not sure about the builds)
Were not so difficult after all, we could have held there for ages and quite fastly it came: enter to the boat.

Ok... try thinking of a build that doesn't revolve around Searing Flames. Then maybe try to think of something that actually prevents damage over hoping to kill them before they dish out too much of it.
Blinding Surge is likely to work well. The Abbot's love to spam enchantments. Oh and SF is shit vs Tyrian bosses... 2/3s burning is useless.

I found it fairly easy (once My friend and I figured out an effective set up)
I was bunny thumping(r/w) and she was running a normal barrage ranger (with judges insight to speed up start). We took the monk hero (running LoD) and monk hench. Also had a MM, and razah set up as a spirit spammer. We flagged the rit right in front of the dock, with the mm right beside him. The two monks were set up about 1/3ed aggro circle behind them. I was roaming on the beach (in easy reach of monks) and my friend was typically right behind me.
If you focus fire on the eles right away the minions will take care of the wars fairly easy (typically from death nova). The MM usually had about 7-10 minions up at all times.

It was a pretty easy one...here's the build we used
Mo/Me (me): [skill]dwayna's Kiss[/skill][skill]word of healing[/skill][skill]jamei's gaze[/skill][skill]divine spirit[/skill][skill]mend ailment[/skill][skill]inspired hex[/skill][skill]rebirth[/skill][skill]healing touch[/skill]
W/something (can't remember): Basic sword attack self heal build
Tahlkora (prot with ZB)
Master of Whispers (MM)
Necro with [skill]spoil victor[/skill][skill]mark of subversion[/skill] and other hexes
Zhed (earth ele) with wards to help against melee attacks, AoE spells like [skill]eruption[/skill] and [skill]sandstorm[/skill], i think he had [skill]ebon hawk[/skill] too
Spoil Victor works great if the enemy keeps on targeting minions, and works a charm on enemy monks too..
Being healer monk was also pretty straight forward. I could pretty much out heal anything they where throwing at us. Those lightning drakes made things a little tricky. Mend Ailment was only for when the Warrior called Blind/Weakness. Or when one of the casters is dazed by the bone dragons The AoE spells Zhed cast helped break agro if the enemy focus on one person. Inspired Hex for when one of us gets hit with barbs and is targeted by those bone hound thingys. We had to do it twice (once for mission and again for bonus).
Tahlkora wasn't kiting at all, and was pretty much the only one being hit all the time. The warrior took some damage when pulling groups and drawing agro. And with most of the casters in wards it was a breeze. (Apart from Thalkora, she has no idea how wards benefit her, and only starts kiting when enemies engage her in the wards. Ironically she then kites out of the wards.

Me and 6 guildies did this last night and found a very interesting trick. We all were on our main chars, so we didn't have an extreme amount of flexibility in the build (couldn't switch primary professions anyway). We had 2 monks, 2 warriors, an ele and a necro. The builds we used didn't matter, but there is a fool proof strategy to beat it.
As you approach the beach at the end, hug the right wall. Lead the ghost up to the graveyard. The vizier doesn't spawn. Kill the few mantle that come, but make your way to the graveyard and get the bonus. Now, hug the same wall (now on your left) and get back up on the hill directly across from the pier where the Vizier spawns. There will be a huge mob standing there, so triggering the Vizier would end your run instantly. For now, pull the mobs coming from the left and right with a longbow. They'll run up the hill after you.
Once all mobs stop coming and you are left with the giant group at the pier, have one person inch closer to the pier with a longbow. You have to come down off the hill, but not much. You can shoot the arrow and everything will come running. Your whole party should flee at this point. While all the mantle will come on the first shot, they are actually unlinked groups. Once you flee, wait for the mantle to settle and they should be spread out of enough to pull 1 or 2 groups at a time. Wipe them out, walk up to the pier to spawn the Vizier and wait for the boat. Piece of cake!

I did it yesterday with a friend and 4 Heroes.
We were both Warriors, we had 1 Healer Monk, 1 Protector Monk and 2 Searing Flames Elementalists (what else? =P).
All of us had Mantra of Flame equiped which really helped to reduce the damage from Searing Flames.=D At the last part we flagged the Heroes on the bridge while we took out the Savants one by one. It was pretty hard but at least we managed to finish it.

I had problems with this mission for a very long time. I do not believe it is possible to complete this mission (the legitimate way) using the tyrian henchmen. However, human players are able to react to pressure much better and I was eventually able to breeze through it (legitimately) with a pug with very little difficulty.
I believe this mission to be one where henchmen are simply inadequet and highly suggest that you partner up with other human players.

Pretty easy with heroes/hench
Mesmer (domination)
Spear Paragon
Savannah Ele
LoD healer
Alesia
Little Thom
Run up to the Vizier, and kill everything that comes until you can leave. I did the mission and bonus seperately for convinience.

I did it hero/hench way:
Me (A/D): Owpj0xj6KSdP7PNMHMsX1gDQ6PA - Crit Renewal
Olias (N/Mo): OANDUsldOL1qwRFNkGqqGN0I - Jagged MM
Xandra (Rt/Me): OAWkMUhsYSik1W1T504EnIzkoTyF - Restoration SSpammer w/ Xinrae's Weapon
Livia (N/Rt): OAhjYgHsoO5BhmdoMs7sEYskLA - Spiteful Spirit
+ Reyna
+ Aleasia
Pretty easy... Every time you go into a mob remeber to split all your heros manually and everything will go fine.
