Oh yeah it is a hell of allot cheaper too! lol $10 off.. I was hoping for at least 20 off. I was thinking 30 dolors. I guess that is what i get for thinking.

If Anet didn't say it, then it isn't official.

galie gray has stated many times and anet has too that its 3rd quater of 2007 which is late july through mid september ... but have also said around holiday season 07 but which holiday and what does around mean to them ... but galie gray said 2 days ago 3rd quater and told us its around augest and thensmiled lol soo i would think this link would be correct
the reason i looked this up was the fact i saw a display stand in the store but it did not give a release date at all they got it in saterday i know peeps that work there and they metion them getting it in and they can start displaying it on monday.... but there was no date in there computers for release info... then i look on site tonight and saw that but i dont know

The price might be correct though, thinking how much the PvP only editions cost. $39.99 seems like the right price range. As for the date knowing EBgames they seem to get things close to where they need to be, at times (unless something gets pushed back). Of course the official statement has yet to be given from A-net, but given time I am sure that’s something we might see.

EB Games is notorious for stating dates that are little more than wishful thinking! BloodRayne for PC 1 year late! And every item I ever preordered came months after the date they listed. They list dates just to get you to fall for the hype so they can get your money looooong before you ever get what you ordered....also, if you put cash down on a $49 dollar game and the price goes up to $59 they won't honor the lower price....they are one of the worst businesses to buy anything from....they also cut their PC games down to one tiny rack and push console games...I plain ol' hate em!!! <-- just my experience, therefore just my opinion.
savage vapor 33
The price seems a little high, but sindex is right, the pvp only editions are that price too. Since this is mostly PVE its kind of the same thing i guess, what are the specs on the game again? Like whats being introduced, how many skills, heroes, and other things?
racerx2105
I'm thinking they plan to aim for a launch around Halloween. Even though its not considered a major holiday, Gaile ,on April 27th, threw out the quote that this Halloween was going to be extra special. But thats not really to be taken too much out of context.
wetsparks
Dont trust the date since they dont even have a cover for the game. When you see a site that has the official cover art next to it then the date is most likely correct.
drago34
I have never had a problem with EB. I would wait until an official date is given before I pre-order, but thats just me...

key word, Targeted. That is provided that everything happens seamlessly and ticks like well oiled German clockwork, and that tends to never happen. Expect it September.

Never trust those sites. Anet said around September I think, so we'll see

and if the release date is also a guess, then its probably fair to say the price is also a guess, though the price seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Well, I'm a little bit more inclined to believe something like this. Especially when everything from the Inquirer article turned out to be true...

Bah... Every site/store that sells games makes up release dates for EVERY game. Its not official until I hear it from A.net. Duke Nukem Forever release date of Dec 2004 anybody?

There are a few websites like eb that show the Aug. 27th date. They've been up for about a month. I agree that it's all hear-say until Anet makes the announcement, although GW:EN is supposed to be shown at the Penny Arcade Expo (Aug. 24-26) and then be released soon after.

Coming from a Gamestop employee:
The release date in Gamestop and EB's computers is an estimated release date.
The reason they put estimated release dates for far-off games in their system is so that the game is at least IN their system.
This, of course, allows them to begin taking reserves for the game.
It's very simple. They can't begin taking reserves on a game until it has a SKU in the system, and a game won't have a SKU in the system until it is placed in there and given a release date (they can't set the date to "pending" or anything like that, it has to be a real date).
Of course, that date is subject to change when an official announcement is made. It's just an estimated date.
What that date DOES tell us is that Gamestop/EB thinks the game will be released earlier (September-ish) in the fall rather than later (say, November-ish).
My guess would be September, but we'll have to wait and see.
Also, for the record, there isn't a CE in the system yet, only the regular game priced at $39.99. The CE won't be put in the system for reserve until it has been officially announced (assuming they release one, that is).

ANet, in interviews, has stated they will be showing GW:EN at the PAX which ends Aug. 26th. It's likely that is where the date estimate for the online stores came from; the day after the show ends.
And, the next weekend - Sept 1-3 - is the Labor Day 3-day weekend.

therangereminem, thank you so much for trying to share information. I see it got you nothing but speculation and naysayers. Thanks for trying, and I guess we will see.

If you read the page, you would notice that it is for the Pre-release. This thread should be /closed.

Speculation threads exactly like this one come up for every GW game and they are always just as pointless each time.
Gaile has said a million times that if the info is not from Anet then don't believe it because it may very well be false. Anet will tell you the release date when they know what it is.
