Vizunah Square - A Cartography Question

I'm gradually working on my cartography title among other things so I downloaded some maps that TC Fish uploaded and they've been very helpful to me so far.

However, I just don't understand this particular section from his Cantha map.

As you can see, he has uncovered and completed both Vizunah Square - Local and Vizunah Square - Foreign. How?

I've never been able to access both districts with a single character. I even went with a group to finish the Mayhem in the Market quest with a foreigner. When my group leader spoke to the guardsman and the group warped into the local quarter, I was left alone in The Undercity. I assumed from this that there is just no way to access both sides. So, how did the mapmaker do it? Or is this map just a photoshop composite from separate characters?

It used to be possible to access the Local Quarters as a foreigner by tagging along with a native who does Mayhem in the Market. You also need to have done the Zen Daijun mission (iirc, been some time) before you are allowed in.

So either they changed it in an update (don't see why they should do this), or you don't meet the requirement for being allowed to enter.

i did this with 8 chars, and it always worked for me. Just atg along witrh someone having the last part of mayhem quest, and foreigns should be guided in.
The Zen D mission might do the trick

Ok, i'll try that again tonight. I've definitely finished the Zen Daijun mission. (Working on that protector title too. Got everything but Eternal Grove done)

However, I'm not positive that I had Zen Daijun finished when I tagged along with the mayhem group the first time. It's been several months so I just can't remember. I'll try tonight and let you know.

I am fairly certain that as long as you have no ineligible characters in your party (i.e., you qualify and you just bring heroes or henchmen) you should be able to simply *walk* to the other mission outpost. I know for certain that unless they changed it you can just walk into the Foreign Quarter - I know I did with my ritualist when poking around in Bukdek Byway.

From GuildWiki:
# To gain access to Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) as a foreigner you must complete the Zen Daijun mission, then join a team doing the last part of Mayhem in the Market (watch the advertisements in The Marketplace). You will be teleported in with the team into the local quarter.

# To gain access to Vizunah Square (Foreign Quarter) as Canthan you have two choices. One way to gain access is to tag along with a foreign character doing Welcome to Cantha. Alternatively, after you complete Nahpui Quarter (Mission) you can simply run yourself to the gate. It will be open.

I've got one character who's been to both (Canthan native)... a GWfriend of mine took me through the mission when I was veryvery drunk, so I really couldn't tell you exactly how I got to the foreign quarter, just that I did it w/in the last couple of months. ;D

I tagged along with someone a while ago and it let me in nice and simply. (i had already completed Zen Daijun) the cutscene from the end of the To the marketplace quest deposits you into the town.

Well, unfortunately I didn't get to try it out. I couldn't play the game much at all last night. Something was very very wrong with the server. I was getting ping times in the 4000 range with an average ping consistently in the 3000s. I was "freezing" just about every minute and dying at every mob encountered.

None of my guildmates seemed to be having any problems so I don't know what the issue was, but I wasn't about to force any mayhem pug to put up with me.

(And before some troll replies with the inevitable "upgrade your lousy computer/connection" post, that's not the problem. These ping times are not normal for me. Usually I have no trouble playing the game.

It was probebly something to do with your net connection. If it continues, contact your ISP and have them run some line tests to try to determine if there is something amiss.

you will need to tag along with a "local" (ie factions character) who is doing market mayhem, this will get you in, and let you map the the few points available here
