This guide is inspired by the '600/smite' combination used for the Underworld and fissure of woe.
Credits to this farm in specific should go to us however.
Exile of Heaven, Xia Dragonheart, Nyah Kthuul and me, Laras Patron Saint proudly present to you:
Undead hunting in the Poisoned Outcrops in Hardmode.
So, what will we be farming?
- Undead
- Margonites
- A few tormented creatures (Some you can, and some you can't kill)
- Elemental creatures (According to wiki, these can drop Elemental Swords)
- Djinns
- Insects
- A couple of bosses (A necromancer, a ritualist, an elementalist, and perhaps a paragon)
What will we use and where will we farm?
The +4's are done with headgear switching. For the Spirit bond monk, leave the protective headgear on.
How do these builds work?
- The Smitebonders build is the easiest of the two, cast the enchantments on the spiritbond monk (switch headgear for the best effect) and follow him wherever he goes.
Stay at a safe distance, use Blessed Signet and Frozen Soil before the Spiritbond monk attacks the undead army.
Use your damage signets to kill torment creatures on their knees, or just to add damage while killing to speed up the process.
-The Spiritbonders build is much harder to use. Cast blessed aura with a +4 divine headpiece, then switch back to your protection gear. Put up the two energy bonds.
Your armor should be armorclass 15, so you take a lot of damage. It is ok to have higher armorclass headgear and feet or gloves, but stick to a 15 armor chestpiece and 15 armor legs.
Insignia could be + energy or + health.
Now for the battle: Protective spirit, Spellbreaker, Spirit Bond, Shield of Absorption. Make sure frozen soil is up when you are going to kill undead.
The undead will first knock you down with Signet of Judgement.
Your Spirit Bond will wear off after 10 hits, which is very early. You will not take damage now though because you still have Shield of Absorption on you.
When Shield of Absorption is almost recharged, throw up a new Spirit Bond, follow with another Shield of Absorption. Keep doing this until the foes are all dead. Don't forget to throw up a new Protective Spirit every now and then.
So what if your Shield of Absorption is interrupted?
You will find this to happen pretty often. Just watch your Spirit Bond closely. If it wears off, throw up a new one. Do NOT renew your Spirit Bond until the other one has worn off. Because if you do, the renewed Spirit Bond doesn't have 10 new charges, instead it continues with the amount of charges the last one had left.
This often results in your hitpoint bar going up and down alot.
Another problem that you can get is energy trouble. This doesn't happen all that often. If it does just try to renew Spirit Bond, Protective Spirit is a tad bit less important, Shield of Absorption is a whole lot less important. In some cases which are very rare, you just get screwed and you die. No problem just start over from the nearby shrine.
Now lets look into some of the problems that may occur:
The frozen soil is too far from the enemies, they keep ressurecting eachother.
Easily fixed, just pull them over a bit closer to the Frozen Soil spirit. The Smitebonder can help out by just killing the ones that are ressurecting with his signets.
You cannot kill the enemies.
The enemies that fall into this category are: Margonite reapers (when they are left alone, sometimes they die along the group trying to heal their teammates, sometimes they are leftover), some tormented creatures (ranger, dervish and warrior) And thats it.
Just make your way past them, kill everything around it and let the Smitebonder walk past. Fight other groups while walking until the unkillable foes go back to where they came from.
So, is it profitable?
Hell yeah, killing the undead goes really quick, and it nets a very decent amount of golden items, including elite tomes, ancient shields, ripper blades, dead bows, desolation swords, aerowind blades and more. Guildwiki says that Elemental Swords have dropped here too from the Sand Crags. Be sure to bring lockpicks!

Variations?
Many:
- Frozen soil on the Spiritbond monk, replace Blessed Aura with it. Leaves room for two skills on the Smitebonder, Scourge Healing and Bane Signet. Throw up Scourge Healing on a Margonite Reaper and follow with Holy Wrath on the Spiritbonder. With the added Bane Signet you can kill the warrior and dervish Torments aswell.
- Ranger/Monk, you can do any combination of Mo/X and X/Mo as long as one of the X's is Ranger, take Blessed Aura from the bar and replace it with Frozen Soil if you are the Spiritbond ranger. If the Smitebonder is a ranger, replace Vital Blessing with Bane Signet. Other proffessions can be done too. Just have one R/Mo or Mo/R
- Other areas: Corsairs in Barbarous shore, Maguuma jungle (thank you bob, theres another thread for this one), Griffons mouth (drops are silly, you will want to have balanced stance as Spiritbonder), Cursed Lands (or other kryta undead places), Dasha Vestibule... and probably many many more.
Reminder: You can use any combination of X/Mo Mo/X for this, though Spellbreaker comes in very useful. For the Fissure of Woe and Underworld, I highly recommend being Monk primary, as Spellbreaker is a requirement there.
If I come up with something, I will edit the thread again.
Thanks for reading,
Laras Patron Saint (or Girl From The Woods/Mistical Miss)
EDIT: Thanks to community contributions: This can also be done with a hero Smitebonder.
