Canthan character doing early missins in Elona?

Hey all

I have a problem that is really bugging me. I thought that I would try and get the "Protector of Elona" title with my Canthan character. But for some reason I can´t do the missions on the beginners Island. I could do the very first mission, but not the rest.

Anyone know what I need to do to open the other two missions for my foreign character. I´ve looked everywhere but can´t seem to find any mission that I´ve missed.

(I´m sure that the answer will be a Doh!! experience.... )

Have you beaten Nightfall yet? You get access to them after that.

Have you picked up your heroes yet?

Melonni is required for Jokanur Diggings, and Tahlkora for Blacktide Den. It's been ages since I did them with my Tyrian and Canthan toons, before the 'gain Zenmai' and 'Gain Olias' quests were changed, but you should be able to pick up Koss, Melonni, Dunkoro and either Souske or Jinn before you move on to the Consulate Docks.

See, told you, the answer was indeed an DOH!!!! experience!!! I´ve beaten Nightfall with three different characters, one should think that I would have learned about the "a certain hero is required for this mission" rule by now!!

Well, felt stupid for about five minutes before I went to Jokanur Diggins, selected Melonni as one of my heros, danced my way over to the NPC that would let me enter the mission, only that he didn´t....

So, I still have the same problem as before, can´t do the missions Jokanur Diggins or Blacktide Den. The charachter I´m playing has finnished Nightfall, has the required Heros and the required Sunspear Rank. So, why can´t I do those missions, what am I missing??

Do the icons for those locations show up as a mission or outpost icon? Perhaps you need to do a quest or prior mission that unlocks them?

Does the mission NPC have the little green swords and shield over his head?

I've seen past threads where people can't get in even though they seem to do everything required. The common factor is that they've beaten Nightfall before going back to the Istani missions and can't do Jokanur/Blacktide. I've never had the problem myself because I do those missions beforehand. I'm afraid this is a bug, and you should complain to ANet about it.

I've had this problem before, I think I had to redo the Sunspears in Kryta/Cantha quests. I had taken both, done one and then abbandoned the other or something like that.

Might check the Sun Docks (where you arrive after doing the above quest) and see if Seamarshal Bendro has an arrow over his head. You may not have taken the quest reward.

If that doesn't work, make sure the quest isn't still in your quest log, see if you can retake the quest from the guy in Kaineng, or even try doing the Prophecies equivalent if you have that campaign. One of those should work. Good luck.
