Will the 3 campaigns be removed?

I just checked out the Guild Wars web site cos i was a tad bored and wanted to see if anything new was happening...
anyway~! I noticed an article about Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2. So i read it and from my understanding there may be a possibility that the Guild Wars campaigns may eventually be "moved aside" for Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2. Is this possibility possible?

Further more, i know that our characters won't be lost and most of what we've earned over our Guild Wars experience in the campaigns, but to what extent? For example, the skills that we've accumulated through Prophecies to Nightfall, it said in the article that not all of them will be transferable to the coming Expansion. Does this mean that they will be replaced? Not just skills though, weapons and armor. That sort of stuff.

I'm not saying this Expansion doesn't sound good, on the contrary. It's just i'm a little confused with what's happening and/or going to happen to our characters and the 3 campaigns already.

Can anyone give me a little insight into this pls? :S

Eye of the North will be an expansion, which you can add on to one of the three currently out, so if anything, it will add more content. Guild Wars 2 will be an entirely separate game and you will have no ability to transfer characters, you will, however, be able to play the original three, with the same content, intended originally.

Ok, so P, F and NF won't be removed. They will still be here, and you will still be able to play as usual. Maybe there will be less players, as it happens when something new appears and people migrate, but the games will be here.

When you get GWEN, it's added to the account you have the other three campaigns on, and I assume there will be a quest to get you there, like the LA -> Kaineng quest.

In GWEN there will be a Hall of Somesuch (I can never remember names) where you will be able to record the progress of your characters.

In GW2, you will gain *something* in proportion to whatever is recorded in the Hall of Thingamajingie. IIRC, not your actual loot, character or cash. Maybe a title? Maybe you'll have access to a Ghost model for your character? And call it "Ghostly [name]" xD.

GW will not be moved aside for GW:EN. GW:EN is an expansion to GW and will act as one for whichever campaign you may have. When GW2 comes out in 2 years or so, they've said that GW will still be supported. Eventually, who knows when, GW will go the way of Pong and Space Invaders. But who knows when.

You won't lose anything with the expansion (GW:EN). GW2, however is a brand new game, set 200 years after GW. Your characters will be dead and gone in the world of Tyria (in the time of GW2), but you'll be able to build a shrine to remember your characters (Hall of whatever) in GW:EN. There's a lot of speculation as to what your new GW2 characters will be able to inherit from GW1 characters. Two things that are certain are that you'll be able to reserve your current character NAMES for GW2 Characters and that your accomplishments in GW1 will some how benefit GW2 characters.

Oh, that's what i wanted to know, that's what i was confused about. Thank you so much Makes more sense now. But that's really disappointing to hear I really like my character atm. So many other people have done so much to their character as well, it'd be a shame if they lose it or a lot of it. =S

Don't think about it as losing anything, especially as you can link GW2 to your GW1 account and pass the character names and achievements over to thier grand children... Adds a great lil RolePlay element to the game
