Q. About Elite Tomes

I know that elite tomes drop only in hard mode from bosses, but do they drop from lower level bosses (Such as Zinjuu Life Crawler) as well? And if they do, are the drop rates the same?

I would assume so. I have seen (normally)low level bosses in Ascalon drop Elite Toems in Hard Mode before. I think the Drop Rate for Bosses is the same across Hard and Normal Mode, in terms of rare items. That is, a Charr Boss in Ascalon in Normal Mode has the same chance to drop a gold as a Mursaat Boss in Ring of Fire in Normal Mode, the quality will just obviously be the difference. In Hard Mode, the same applies but the quality won't be different.

I'm just trying to farm a monk elite tome and wondering if it'd be worth while to farm something like zinjuu or to try and solo a higher level monk boss if theres more of a chance of that dropping an elite tome

Well, Zinjuu will be pretty much the same level as any other monk boss you will encounter in Hard Mode. Just pick whichever one is easiest to get to. i.e. right outside a town, first boss in a mission, not many guys enroute to it, etc. Zinjuu might be a good choice. If you have Nightfall, I would suggest Keshel the Voracious in Cliffs of Dohjok. He is right outside Blacktide Den.

Beginning bosses are level 26.
Later on, bosses are level 30.


So I believe that only the level 30 bosses would drop em, at least that would sort of make some sense.

They drop from locked chests in HM as well of course...
