Hey all. I am breaking through the campaign right now (actually alt tabbed out) and starting to hate these ghetto builds I have been building.
Right now, i am running around with
8 protection prayers
14 scythe mastery
13 mysticism
My build is..
Mystic Vigor
Mystic Sweep
Eremites attack
Heart of fury
Avatar of Dwayna
Protective Spirit
Balthazars Spirit
(Signet of capture/rez spell)
Scythe is
Suntouched Scythe of Enchanting
9-41
20% enchantment duration
15damage ^50%
I dont have access to mystic regeneration yet, until mouth of torment. I was thinking of zealious scythe addition, but i am not sure if it will fit my scythe, and i do not have much money to experiment with.
Really every build i have seen utilizes mystic regeneration... I am not sure what to use. This one is generally good on the DPS/keeping myself alive, but it seems slow, and lacks mana efficiency with balthazars spirit up. The only times it feels awesome is when im tanking large amounts of creatures at once, which is rare, they tend to ignore me when i hit avatar of dwayna/in general. The avatar rocks for healing, i tried balthazar and my survivability dropped.
So what should I do? until i get mystic regen, theres not many builds out there that seem plausible.
D/M looking for a campaign build.

Out of the many many builds out there, a LOT of them are not only viable/plausable, but also fun. It all comes down to actually trying them...
If your main problem is simply not having the cash to buy new skills. I suggest farming/saving up for a bit so that you can sufficiently by a variety of skills in order to try numerous builds.
From the skill set you have, i suggest dropping Bathazars Spirit for Mending Touch so you can get a descent heal + strip any pesky conditions that could hamper you (i.e. Weakness, Blind, Dazed, etc). With Balth Spirit gone, you can now use a zealous scythe effectivily, along with Heart of Fury, your energy maintenance should be just fine now!
Anyway, hope that bit of advice helps. BTW, Mystic Regen is NOT the end all of Dervish skills and builds. It is an incredibly good skill, but is not a guarantee of a successful build. Many builds flourish without it. For example, when NF first came out, my first char was a dervish and i hadnt discovered Mystic Regen until after i beat the game. I had beaten the game in a week with no more deaths then an everyday wammo...
cheers!
EDIT:: Also, imho Prot Spirit is not really necessary. And since you have such high mysticism, i'd go stick with mysticism buffs::
[skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill], [skill]Mystic Vigor[/skill] (as you have), [skill]Watchful Intervention[/skill], or maybe another attack skill that also self heals: [skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill].

Thanks for the advice, i'll try some of that. sadly i dont have access to victorious sweep yet, which is why i dont have regen yet either ;p that skill looks pretty sick though!

if you are going into protection to keep yourself alive get reversal of fortune. its only going to cost you 1 energy, and if you buff your mysticysm to 15 its free.
