I'd like to try a N/R with a solo pet for small groups or soloing but I have yet to find a good build. Does anyone have a good one or some suggestions for one (Besides wth?!)

To be honest I find that N/P and N/R or any non caster profession (except dervish for it's enchants) does not have good synergy with necro as compared to other caster professions.
I would suggest sticking to secondaries Monk, Ele, Rit and Dervish.
I'll probably be flamed for being "cookie cutter" but I really don't see how well a N/P or N/R will perform, maybe stuff like Never Surrender / Never Give Up.

i have to agree with zenrgy. I've tried both /r and /p and neither i think gives much to a necro. what i think your trying to do is thinking a pet will tank for you while you solo with your necro. in my opinion there are better skills in monk and mesmer lines that'll allow you to tank better than anything your pet can do for you

A Curse Necro Beastmaster actually isn't all that bad.
Spinal Shivers combined with Winter and a pet using an IAS can be pretty devastating.

Yeah I could go 55 and farm or whatever a lot easier but 55ing gets old.

go as a regular mm, and bring the lowest lvl pet you can get your hands on... send the pet in to get clobered, wait for your bar to reset and you have a body realy early in the fight to use for minnions.. res pet, watch him die again - as long as he dies within a few seconds of his res it won't trigger your bar and you can keep resing and geting minnions the whole time.

Within a few seconds? Would that beat the recycling time of soul reaping then?
If pet dies every 2 seconds, SR won't trigger again until your pet has died after the 2nd rez, right?
