well i mostly play my rit as a offensive rit so wanted to try resto and threw together what skills i had and headed to RA to test it:

attributes:
restoration 12+1+3
then put res into spawning

Spirit Light-Spell. Sacrifice 17% Health. Target ally is healed for 60...156. If any Spirits are within earshot, you don't sacrifice Health.

Mend Body and Soul-Spell. Target ally is healed for 20...96 Health. That ally loses one Condition for each allied Spirit within earshot.

Recuperation-Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...8 Spirit. Non-Spirit allies within its range gain +1...3 Health regeneration. This Spirit dies after 15...39 seconds.

Life-Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...8 Spirit. When this Spirit dies, all non-Spirit allies within its range are healed for 1...6 Health for each second this Spirit was alive. This Spirit dies after 20 seconds.

Vengeful Weapon-Weapon Spell. For 8 seconds, the next time target ally takes damage from a foe, that ally steals up to 15...51 Health from that foe.

Weapon of Warding-Weapon Spell. For 5...10 seconds, target ally has a Weapon of Warding that grants target ally +2...4 Health regeneration and a 50% chance to "block."

Remove Hex-Remove a hex from target ally

Resurrection Signet -Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. This signet only recharges when you gain a Morale Boost.

in RA this worked well and i could effectively heal my team and if my team had overextended and i was left trying to stay alive i could stay alive a fair amount of time unless i was dazed or had a hex such as frustration on me also i only have tranquil was Tanasen as a resto elite so i figured i could put remove hex to better use. i enjoyed being a resto rit so let me know if this build is viable or if it isnt maybe some advice on what to change.

thank you,
Vengeful Spirit

this is an excellent build for RA, but I would make two slight changes:

Switch remove hex for something a little quicker in the mes line, such as revealed hex.
and maybe if you feel like having a longer wep spell for regen, switch WoW for resil wep.

but thats just me. Overall 10/10 RA build!

thanks and i have noticed remove hex has a bit of a long cast time for my liking and i will look into the mesmer line and ty for the compliment

If you like the build as-is and aren't having many problems, you can easily switch Vengeful Weapon out for [skill]Weapon of Remedy[/skill] to get another condition-remover on the bar.

I see energy problems with this build, especially with Recuperation and Weapon of Warding there. Revealed/Inspired Hex would help a teensy bit by giving you a "free"ish hex removal, but in situations needing heavy healing I can't see you continuing to heal people for very long. In something as quick as the RA, it could work, but don't expect that it'll transfer to PvE well.

Weapon of Warding is a fairly decent skill to put on yourself if you find yourself under fire, but that limits your healing options to MB&S and SL, and your energy pool will run out faster than a gank-happy Assassin or Warrior. Maybe with Emissary's Armor (or Ghost Forge Insignia) and proper weaponry you would be a little tougher to take down, however.

This build can certainly work. Were you to bring it over to PvE, you may have to make a sacrifice or two for energy management, but in a quick, random PvP arena like the RA it's probably viable.

on E-management would signet of spirits be a good choice to help make up for energy? and i have noticed the low energy when wanting to recast recuperation and as of now am using radiant armor to try to help me energy wise.

Signet of Spirits is pretty good, but I like [skill]Offering of Spirit[/skill] more. It gives a ton of energy regardless of whether or not there's a spirit around. Yes, you get a noticable health hit when a spirit's not there, but at least you get the energy to heal yourself afterwards. If it were me, I would probably put OoS (or SoS, if you're still shaky about the health hit) in place of Remove Hex, and replace Weapon of Warding with Resilient Weapon. That's just me, though, experiment for yourself

My personal recommendation on e-management would be [skill]Attuned was Songkai[/skill], since you've already got the points in Spawning.

IMHO, if a build has no elite skill, than it is not at its full potential. I do however like the suggestions. If you decide to use AwS, trying using [skill]soothing memories[/skill]

Recuperation blows. 25 Energy, and you have to stay around it to receive a bad version of healing breeze? nty. Replace with [skill]recovery[/skill]. This one pretty much makes SF suck, while helping you out with daze(which is a killer) and other conditions.
Oh and btw, the builds i had the most success with in RA use Shadowsong and some other communing spirits, and only 3 or 4 rest skills/spirits.
Shadowsong makes you not die horribly to shadowstepping sins.

Hang on a sec, Recuperation is not a weak healing breeze; it's a full-party-plus-allies version of Mending (+3 regen at max restoration) for anyone within about 1.5 aggro bubbles of the spirit. Assuming an 8-member party with everyone in range, Mending on everybody would cost 40e + -8 energy regen. Compare to Recuperation which costs 25e and does not saddle you with energy degen. In PvE, when your casters are all bunched up and not really going anywhere, this skill is fabulous, and it's even more fabulous if you have allied NPCs around. It's probably not the best choice in PvP, however, since parties are smaller (except in AB), and everybody moves around so much.

Deny Hexes is decent hex removal.

Or if you're confident, expel hexes and power drain.

The poster went to RA to test a Resto build but did not specify whether the intent was to ONLY use the build in RA. My intent here was to make sure that a skill that shines in certain situations was not dismissed out of hand.

I wouldn't take Recuperation to RA, but I might take it to AB if I planned to run a full Resto build. With all the NPCs and the huge party size, chances are it will have a favorable impact, even if it only makes allied NPCs a little more resilient after you've capped and moved on.

I like the build but personally I would add Weapon of Remedy, as Oso said before

However I would have to agree in taking out Recouperation, I see where it could be handy but if you are taking Resilient Weapon instead of Weapon of Warding you should be okay.

I wouldnt overlook [skill]Spirit Light Weapon[/skill] while it isnt the best skill, I've been able to use it effectively as a self heal, as well as a caster heal. If used be sure to tell your teamates to attempt to stay near the Life/Recouperation spirit if possible. Its basically a non-strippable supercharged healing breeze.
