To give people a hand in giving you advice a couple of questions:
1. Are you wanting a farming build or a normap PvE build...or both? Farming builds and PvE builds tend to be completely separate and can't be used for the same purpose.
2. If you want a normal PvE build which Element (Air, Earth, Fire, Water) would you rather play with at the moment?
One thing I will say is learn to manage your energy. I see far too many elementalists in missions spamming "My energy is 2 of 102!"...to make the point I usually ping mine... "My energy is 60 of 79!". Yes, elementalists may have a large energy pool...but to make up for it a lot of our skills cost a lot of energy. Two main choices are open to you with Factions...you can use an attunement (Air Attunement, Earth Attunement etc..) and Glyph of Lesser Energy...or if you get to the mainland you can drop Glyph of Lesser Energy for Elemental Attunement...an elite from Chung the Attuned in the Undercity. Dual attunements provides fantastic energy management.

I would rather have a farm build, with earth and fire if possible, maybe this helps..
