GWEN..Wich characters can you play with?
kikass11
Ive been wanting to make a ritualist for quite some time now but i dont want to do factions for the 3rd time so i was wondering which characters you can play with in GWEN. for example is it only the core 5 proffesions? or if you have all 3 campains you can play with all proffesions? or if you have only factions you can play the core and factions characters? Or do we not know yet?

I don't think we know exactly how its going to work yet....but it is my feeling that it will be for characters that have beaten the campaign they own....like it is with hard mode...i know they are not going to introduce any new professions and i seriously doubt there will be any low lvl content...just my opinion..

Part of the reason that GW:EN is an "expansion" as opposed to a "campaign/chapter" is due to ANet deciding that they did NOT want to create another beginner area.
The result is no new character creation in GW:EN. It is designed to expand the content available to your existing characters. There will be no new professions, no added character slots.
Think of it as an extensive Fissure of Woe or Underworld area, that can be accessed from any campaign, but without the favor requirement.

@aaje - Check out the April 25th talk synopsis; next to last item
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Gaile/Frog_Talk
Gaile states there that there will be NO new character slots or professions in Eye of the North.
Now this might change prior to retail release, but, if so, I would imagine that any offered free slots would be in the form of a bonus with a pre-order or CE. ANet has not announced whether either of those will be offered.
This is an EXPANSION to which you bring an existing character, so there is no need to create a new character.

@October Jade - It could not have been mesmers that the OP skipped over. No one ever forgets mesmers. Maybe eles?

The way I believe Gaile explained it is that there would be no new character slots, all of your existing characters would be able to go explore the new content (no word on any requirements such as level or campaign completion), and that it's the last thing for GW1.
That's about all we officially know, IMO.

Oh and to help ya out with your question.
Yes, you have to have completed the native campaign of the character you want to do GW:EN with. So if you want to enter GW:EN with your Rit that you will make, you will have to complete Factions. (Just a small spoiler already mentioned about the game: Once you beat a campaign, there is an earthquake which opens up a cave to GW:EN that appears on the map. Thats why all the first missions take place in caves.)

It's stated both on the Wiki and the official details on teh website that you need to have completed one of the chapters with a character to use the GW:EN content
so any character you have, that has completed one of the campaigns is a go!... Have fun
