horn bows and skull shield?

ok, I had a couple horn bows --- 11-18, +5 elemental armor (and the other +11% dam in stance).
I thought, being horn bows, I'd ask 300, but the guy paid me 1000 for each.

which one of us got ripped off?

got a cool skull shield (11 armor/7 tact(?) + some crappy mod).
does the skull skin make it worth anything, or is tyria littered w/those?

things in general with only a few exceptions must be max dmg or armor
bows 15-28 swords 15-22 axe 6-28 hammer 19-35 casters 11-22 shields 16 armor unless you get something with a super rare skin thats like 1 pt off max dmg
